Title: Firefox AND IE

andiesmama - December 22, 2006 02:09 PM (GMT)
Opinions? I've found an at-home job BUT I need Firefox. I currently use IE.

Is Firefox ok or full of problems? Anything I should be aware of?

Can I keep IE on the computer AND Firefox?

Thanks!! :tease:

We use Firefox and still have IE installed on the computer. We haven't had any problems with it.

Well, I was curious, so I downloaded FireFox...MSN had this security warning pop up, so it couldn't download onto the computer.

andiesmama - December 22, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
Hey, if sitting here searching for people who are too lazy to do it themselves and make money off it makes me a dweeb, so be it..... :cheeky:

clayman - December 22, 2006 10:34 PM (GMT)
child? I'll let that one go, pukeboy... :box:

FF - a much better browser, but don't leave it up and running when you leave the machine. IE's a resource hog. (in lay-person's terms, that means it uses a lot of computer stuff it really doesn't need). IE7 is much worse than IE6.

I like FF because the application itself loads quicker than IE7, it loads pages quicker and I can run other things like OpenOffice (a free, open-source Office system) while I'm on the net. IE uses too much memory and CPU time, so I can only run IE and nothing else.

Oh, by the way, if I could ever get ChaCha to work, I might like it too. It's a more complete search system.

Are you still having problems with it? I've been on alot the past few days & it hasn't been buggy for me.....much.... :)

clayman - December 23, 2006 03:53 AM (GMT)
I click on "Accept Search" within seconds of it popping up - then about two minutes goes by and I see "Search complete" at the top of the screen.

I read some more of the thread - apparently I missed an entire page when I made my last post...

Yeah, M$ doesn't want you to use something else. So, they build all kinds of 'features' into their browser that keep you from doing something like installing another browser.

There should be a yellow bar at the top. Right-click on the yellow bar and say "Download File". Then you'll be good to go.

Oh - and Pukeboy doesn't want to admit he doesn't know how to solve your problem. :thanks:
