Title: My Daughter Is A Bully!
Description: I can't believe it!!!

Apparently, she's been bullying a grade 7 boy on the bus!
A little background first....last year this boy always sat at the front of the bus with the kindergarteners and grade oners and well, he got into trouble for picking on them and didn't pay any mind to the bus driver. Well, the kids would tell me what went on and this just kept picking on the little kids! :smack: He's supposed to be sitting towards the back of the bus with the bigger kids, but according to Luke, he's a chicken and is scared of the other kids.... :dunno: So hey, he figures he can pick on the little guys. Last year, after hearing the same story over and over and over again, I finally HAD IT and filed a complaint to the principal in writing and expected her to deal with the situation. My child wasn't the instigator. Ok, it got resolved a little bit. The boy still didn't wanna sit at the back, but at least he eased off with bugging Candace and Luke.
The tables have turned this year!!! The boy STILL refuses to sit back where he's supposed to sit and he still picks on the little kids. Well, Candace is having NONE of it. She is bugging him and bullying HIM around! Can you believe it?! My kid's got more gut and gumption than I ever had at that age! I just simply ignored the jerks around me. It worked, too. B) So yeah, you know how one kid starts problems and then another kid fights back and it's usually the kid that fights back that gets into trouble? Yeah. Really. Candace hasn't quite gotten into "trouble" yet, but Luke now has to sit with her on the rides home in the afternoon.

I'm proud of her for standing up for herself....too bad, tho, that SHE'S the one getting into trouble....

Teach her pressure points....
No visible bruising, harder to detect..... and the pain from a punch is instant and doesn't continue on... pressure points are for as long as you hold it..... plus you show that calm reserve while inflicting the pain... bully's start giving you a wide berth.....
Not that I ever did that .... and got caught....
"What are you doing?"
"He tripped I'm helping him up."
"Why does he look like he's in pain?"
*Squeeze a little more on the point* " I think he might have sprained his ankle inthe fall I'll help him to the Nurse"
*After teacher walks away to Bully* "You ever look crossly in my way again I can do much worse than this...."
I got messed with a lot... but only once after the adults turned away.....

Oh I forgot I'm vindictive....
In my final accounting we're looking a good 95 % is going to be from being vindictive.

I bet you ANYTHING she WOULD do that, too. She's a sneaky lil thing.
Now how do I deal with the hub? He thinks she shouldn't fight back....:dunno:
My reaction is too, that she's a tough cookie and can take care of herself. IF she ever gets "caught"...oh boy I can ream the driver out, the student and the principal herself.

That was my brother's method for correcting his kids in public. Just enough of a pinch to get a kids' attention. But nothing some idiot would call child protective services over.

I don't care who you are man woman child, you put me or my loved ones in danger I will defend myself / them. I expect the same from every other person on this planet.
I expect my son and daughter to defend themselves no matter who is facing them as well.
I expect my son to try and find a way other than violence if it is at all possible if he's up against a woman.
But if she's swinging a bat at him.... Knock her the F out.
I will not let my personal honor be used against me as a weapon. "I can draw a knife on him because I'm a woman he won't hit me." If I can't disarm her... she's going down like a ton of bricks....
I feel that it is only right to fight back when you have no other options left...
**Freaking Soapboxes where the hell are they coming from!?!?**

From my own personal experience, the absolute worst thing you can do is teach a kid not to fight. The question is, where do you draw the line between self-defense and fighting.
When I was Candace's age, I was very big. I was also a bully. I remember pushing a kid off the top of the slide 'cuz he was taking too long.
Well, my parents began to teach me that fighting was wrong, and I did not really learn how to defend myself. When I was in a position where I needed to, I didn't know how. My eighth-grade year was miserable, 'cuz I was always getting the snot kicked out of me. I finally learned how to defend myself, and, well, the rest was history.

You pushed a kid off a slide because he took too long? :smack:
Yeah, we want her to defend herself and from what I hear, that's all she is doing. Hubby just doesn't want her in trouble for doing so.
Now, hubby never picked a fight or got into a fight with NObody. One time he says he got picked on so bad by one boy, he just picked that boy up by the front of his shirt and slammed him against the wall. He was about to slug him when the principal tapped on the window and shook his head.
Me, on the other hand...yes, I've been in fights at school AND got the other girl in trouble! :thanks:
