My Daughter has been complaining almost daily of a tummy ache..Usually when she eats..Anyone know what this might be??

Before or after she eats? Is it daily? How old is she again?

Is she stressing over anything that you're aware of?

Stress....that's my number one thought when Andie complains of a tummy ache.

any new foods she's been eating lately?

Is she :poop: ing like normal? Maybe constipated?

I'd say stress, too. If she's eating normally and healthy and eliminating ok, I wouldn't worry too much...just get her to de-stress.

Luke does this a bit, too. He eats fine then he's all of a sudden complaining of a tummy ache...usually related to the stress at school. :rollseyes:

She's 5. It happens usually in the middle of a meal. She'll go lay down for a while till it goes away and then she can finish eating...I can't think of any stress she is experiencing....I'll look ino it..

Digestive problem, maybe? Lack of enzymes? Is she on any vitamins?

I hate to suggest this, in light of all the coddling, mommy-type suggestions previously, but here's my experience. My youngest gets car-sick quite a bit, throwing up, etc. Really nasty. My wife and I have taught her how to :puke: in a bag, but still when she says, "My tummy hurts", we start scrambling around so she won't stink up the whole car.

Recently, she's started doing this at home. "My tummy hurts!" and she gets attention. She'll even go hang her head over the toilet for a while but no puke comes out. I'm worried this will one day escalate into bulemia if we're not careful...

actually, I had thought of the "attention-getting" thing as well....

I've thought of it also...So I don't know...I'll just keep watching her..

Well there are nasty tasting remedies out there for upset tummies (castor oil anyone)....

Try one of those... if she actually is hurting she'll go for it if she's faking well... she won't after the first dose....

Pepto Bismol is a good one....if you like pink. B)

But it doesn't taste nasty. I think that was Raspy's point.

Can't stand pepto liquid... love teh little chewables though they tase exactly the same... just the liquid rtexture with that flavor just gags me....

Man, in my "wilder" days, after a night of partying I'd swig down some Pepto before I passed out....be good to go the next morning, no hangover!! :thumbsup: :booyah:

Alka-Seltzer before and Gatorade after. Kept me good the next day. :thumbsup:

I've never been drunk....or wild...but I have been stupid..


The tummy aches have subsided for the last couple of days...hope its passed..

Lotta water after I stopped drinking for the night and before I drove....

Gatorade before I went to sleep, and after I woke up....
