Title: Do You Let the Hubby
Description: a lil rant...
Honey - November 21, 2006 09:26 PM (GMT)
Go grocery shopping alone? Usually my hubby does alright so I let him go on his own once in a while. Well, this last week he did AWFUL!! The snacks for the kid's lunches (or lack of) are nearly gone already, he didn't buy any bottled juices for their lunches and there's a bunch of other stuff he neglected to buy but KNOWS he's supposed to get. If I don't write out a specifically detailed grocery list, well, I think you know what happens. :smack:
Of course he has the complaint that when I go grocery shopping, I spend more money. Gee, ya think? I also keep in mind that there are FIVE human beings (and now a cat!) to feed and look after.
Somedays I wonder if he's ever really gotten out of his "baching years".
Ok, rant off. MEN! :bored:

I would never let him go shopping without a list. I mean, when we do on the RARE occasion go together....say, when Andie's away & we just need to pick up a :quote: couple things :quote: .....I end up with a cart FULL of junk that he "thinks" we need.....
men....... :bored:

Mine does great...with a list.
I've only sent him shopping in emergencies (right after my c-sections). He sticks to my list EXACTLY, nothing more, nothing less. No creativity, no adding. But, take him shopping with me? Forget it. He wanders around throwing things we don't need in the cart - totally blowing our budget.

Mine wants to go every time and has-for the last 6 1/2 years-gone most of the time and dragged me along too. He will go up and down every aisle and spend two or three hours there if I don't pressure him to leave. I like to get it done and over with and he likes to leisurely stroll the aisles... It is getting better--he doesn't spend as much time there as he used to, but still going to the store with him has become a chore for me because I know he will want to consider a million things we will never buy...

Geez, Basil sounds so much like my oldest BIL, that if I hadn't seen pictures of you, I might think you guys were related to me.

We both like to browse. If we both take our time, we usually end up losing a kid. So we've been rushing anymore. Time for a date without the kids!

my hubs learned real quick that if he wanted real food he needs to go himself. if he wants junk food, he needs to send me!lol i am TERRIBLE with shopping for food. i don't cook--he loves to cook so i gladly let him. so i never have really learned how to do menu's or anything. what do they say, "if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it".....lol
