I know you Canucks just celebrated Thanksgiving, so now what have my American friends got planned for this day of thanks?

We-sa gonna drive to Mamaw's house in Arkansas and leave the kids there for a week! :booyah: She's finally going to be able to get out and see something besides that tiny town of 3000 people, because her sister's coming up between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Note: We never travel for Christmas. Went to Corpus one time and forgot all the stuff! Had to make an emergency hot-shot run back to Houston...

Hot-shot run? That sounds fun!
We've decided to go to Tommy's oldest sister's house in Cary, NC for Thanksgiving. We need to get away for a few days. We're going to be doing some pre-wedding stuff with our neice, since the kids are both in the wedding. Sarah's pretty excited. She gets to go to the bridal shop and check out her Jr. Bridesmaid dress.

Moms on Thurs, MIL's on Fri... Try not to consume cyanide somewhere in between....
Seriously My FIL is supposed to work at the Prison that Thursday (Tower Guard / Marksman) so my In-Laws Thanksgiving is on Friday this year (as it was last year... )This works out nicely for me I can do One whole day with mine, then one whole day with hers... I just get a little tired of Food... I'm gonna get tired of food a lot faster this year....

Sigh... we'll probly go to my folks place... only cause there's no one else round us an Sarah refuses to cook dinner. I really already don't wanna go there though. I am sooooo sick of my folks/extended faimly. I'd rather stay home an eat sandwhiches in all honesty.

Gee, we'd invite you up - normally do for local folks in your situation - but this year we got plans. Sorry!

After running ourselselves ragged going to both sides of the family for each holiday, we decided to alternate holidays. I think this year we are going to my side for Thanksgiving, which entails having dinner at my cousin Jana's house with her family, my cousins Rodney and Bryan and their families, my aunt and uncle, and my parents. It's usually a big spread, compared to the simplier meal we have when we go to String's parent's home, but the company is less enjoyable. I care about my relatives, but their values are much different than our own, so I never feel at home with them.
The week before Thanksgiving the traditional Christian forty day fast before Christmas begins. Because it's such a significant national holiday, we don't fast on Thanksgiving, but the start of the holiday season is quite a bit different for us, since we are focusing our hearts on the upcoming Feast of the Nativity of Christ. We don't really indulge in all the holiday treats until the twelve days of Christmas, starting Christmas day and ending on the Feast of Theophany, on which we celebrate the baptism of Christ, where God revealed Himself as the Holy Trinity.

My parents get top consideration for holidays because We live so close to my in-laws.
Wife isn't happy with that but she agreed to it. (Only way she got me out here)
