Title: I have me a canadrum....
Addicted2~Jesus - October 17, 2006 01:48 PM (GMT)
I have a problem, has exsited for 3 er 4 years... er since we got married..............
The sleep issue agin............
Ok, but, this is the sleep issue wit a twist. Sarah gits the directions for me to jes bout wherever I go, she walks me into these places, shes a real blessin in this stuff, cause one thin I really hate is to git lost in some worthless part ok the country like NJ.
Anyways, knowin she likes to sleep..... well past the time I think anyone ever should less they be on thier death bed. If I know I am goin somewhere early I try to git the directions before hand an sort it out mysef (I am capable :P ) so yeserday I go to the drop mysef but she never told me how to git out of this lil backwater town up to my next pick up. So I'm fiddle fartin round in this town wastin time an I call er at like 8:30 to git me out of this mess, she is of course still in bed grrrrr. I git out of town everthin goes fine, but here's my trouble.
She wants to do these thins for me an I am happy to let er, but what the heck am I sposed to do when she's still sleepin an I've been workin for 3 hours an now need information she has? She says jes call er, ok fine I do, but then I havta listen to er all frickin day long bout how tired she is, which really upsets me cause I'm tired have been an she was the one asleep!!
See my pickel?

Yeah, I didn't get that. I sort of shut down after that part :smack:
Seriously though, are you on a need-to-know basis? Why can't you have this information from the start ? Is it because you're only getting info on one load at a time? I dont' know how you and Sarah are doing this.
And Sarah, how do you get to sleep till 8:30 a.m.?!! :cheeky:
andiesmama - October 17, 2006 02:03 PM (GMT)
Since you know I'm clueless about these things.... :P ....
Is there any way she could get you the directions before she goes to bed? Do you know ahead of time where you're going next?
Edit to say...I think I copied what Lynn was saying....and I want to know, too, Sarah...how in the WORLD do you get to sleep in until 8:30?????? :D

Sounds like Sarah isn't putting two and two together - kinda like my wife.
If you're tired, don't volunteer to do the extra work. My wife has no problem putting in 70+ hour weeks - and she's on salary (no OT!). So, when we're ready to do stuff on the weekends, that's all we hear from her. But I'm not supposed to complain about it, 'cuz I like having food on the table. :grrr:

Are we seeing a trend this week? A litte extra dose of bitterness Clay?!!

Um - really wasn't intended that way... Just sorta came out.
Hmmm.
Truth be told, there are issues with that. But we're really trying to work through them cordially. Yesterday was a very good day. The house was clean when she got home so she was happy. She came home early 'cuz of the storms, and didn't dial-in so I was happy.
I guess marriage is all about issues. I heard someone on the TV saying that he and his wife have never had issues in 35 years of marriage. I said, "They aren't really married!"
Just trying to work out things that aren't working out...

It was the whole - I hate being a parent plus the wife thing. Honestly, you sound like you've got a big case of cabin fever. Maybe you need a spa day!

I could go for that. 'Course, my idea of a 'spa day' is a tent and a fast-moving stream... (no fishing equipment, though...)

When you git to spend 3 hours goin round an round your stupid toll roads lookin at a buildin your tryin to git to but cain't find a road that actually goes to the stupid buildin in newark an ever turn you make lands you on another road that won't go back to where you first got lost........... it does not make for a pleasant Louis.
Sarah acts as my spotter in this truck, I tell er where I'm at, what I see an she tells me what an where to go etc. I do not always know where I'm goin to go after each drop but normally have an idea which direction to head an need to know how to git out of where I am.
None of that is really the issue, it IS a huge help to me when she does it, its the times shes not availble that causes the problem. It annoys me how long she sleeps but all the complainin in the world doesn't change it so I havta simply deal wit it.............
The trouble comes in where she refuses to allow me to simply handle it cause she wants "to help me" Ok I'm all for that but then be the consitant help, I cain't operate on some help some of the time type thin, never knowin when I'll have to pick up the slack jes to do it then have er chew me out cause I didn't call er. I'm pretty much damned if I do damned if I don't. I specifically got the directions from er the night before so she didn't havta git up which annoys me two fold. 1 I did it cause I didn't want to wake er up which is fine, lovey dovey etc, but its cause 2 shes sleepin when I think she should be up..... hence my canamdrum....
amyroo - October 17, 2006 03:33 PM (GMT)
How many hours of uninterupted sleep is Sarah actually getting at night? Doesn't the baby nurse at least once during the night?
Sarah - October 17, 2006 03:50 PM (GMT)
I honestly can't remember the last night I actually slept through the night and I'm not talking because of the baby/pregnancy. It's been years. I just don't sleep well so I spend a lot of the day tired. I just need more sleep than Louis does. And it's not like I stay up late either. When Louis is home I'm usually in bed by 10. When he's not home usually by 10.30. Kat doesn't go to bed until 9pm so I need that hour after she goes to bed just to relax. I can't really change her bed time cos she's just not really wired to go to bed earlier - a lot of times she'll still be awake at 10 when I check on her before I go to bed.
I really don't think I complain that much. Seems to me that I'll yawn and then Louis will ask why I'm yawning and I'll say because I'm tired. I don't see that as complainig but more stating facts.
I also don't have a problem in the world helping Louis out with the directions. I like to do it because it helps me feel like I'm doing something to help take care of him and make his load while he's gone a little lighter knowing what he goes through. There's not much I can do for him while he's out on the road but this is something I can do.

Louis, I meant the whole NJ crack. I got what you meant, I was just put off by you putting down my home state!!
You know how the NJ department of transportation operates - if you don't know where you're going, too bad, we do! Who the heck needs road signs anyway?

You know what's funny, is that you never hear Debby fighting for FL or GR for IL. (String, Basil - what state are you guys in?!) It's always a battle of Texas and NJ. Louis won't admit it, but these places are very much alike! You can't mess with either of us.
clayman - October 17, 2006 09:13 PM (GMT)
See, I can't say Joisey stinks. All I know about Joisey I learned from the movies. And, from what I've seen about the places I do know about, the movies lie. So, if the movies lie, then Joisey must be a pretty nice place! (outside of the NYC and Philly areas - and they're only polluted by all the out-of-staters...)

Oh - and A2J, if she says it's OK, it's OK. If it bothers you, don't do it. Otherwise, tell her to go see a doctor about this sleeping problem she's had for five years.

I admit Indiana stinks but I also live around a bunch of farms.....
But I feel your pain A2J.
Misty doesn't wake up at anything near a decent hour.....
Misty needs a lot more sleep than I do.
Misty needs to get her a CPAP so that she actually get's sleep not sleep deficit, but what the hell do I know......
I say call if she doesn't answer leave a message stating the time, you called the reason you called and that until she calls you back you're doing it yourself. Or better yet tell her taht you'll end up doing it yourself until she calls you to tell you she's up and ready to help out. This way you can plan on taking care of business until you get a message from her saying that she's ready to help. You can plan on taking care of things until you hear otherwise so that you can clear up that confusion.
