Title: Online Marriage Seminar
clayman - September 27, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
OK - I think it's time we hold a marriage seminar. I know my DW and I have our fair share of problems, and it looks like some of y'all are in the same boat. What couple couldn't benefit from a marriage seminar - even if only one is attending?
So, I'd like to know if anyone's interested in an virtual marriage seminar. I'll be the host/facilitator. I'll create a sub-forum under Hitched in which we can discuss the book or audio or video we're studying.
Rules in the sub-forum will be similar to the Theology forum, but most importantly will be that couples that are present (Basil & String, A2J & Sarah) need to remember that what is said here stays here. Yes, you can share others' problems in prayer time, but gossip or using this as ammo against each other is strictly forbidden.
Whaddaya think?

I'd do it...voted for the book
Altho I think it would be GREAT to meet at a central point & do it in person, don't know how feasible that would be, tho...

I didn't vote. I'd do the book, but right now, I'm completely overwhelmed with my three bible studies. I have so much reading to do...I need to think about it. The one thing we talked about last night in our monthly study, was how family comes first. Not ministry.

:) I understand.
It'll be a while before I can buy a book, and doing this thing will take time to prepare. So, consider this a preliminary survey.

Actually, I checked two boxes and yeah, that was one of them...

I'm game.
If I don't do something soon, I might lose my marriage.
I've been checking out Divorce fees lately because if a couple things around here don't change, I think it's better for my wife and kids and myself if I just walked out the door and only came back for my clothes, and stuff.

hey ... andy and i LOVE the homebuilders series! it's great. it's easy to read, easy to do, and has a great way of making you work together as a couple in order to accomplish the study. we love it! we highly recommend it to others!!
also, there is a book called "a marriage after God's own heart" ---has nothing to do with the "woman after god's own heart" book---- and it's pretty good too. not as good as the first one that i mentioned though.
we have the video series at our church called "love is a choice" by Gary Chapman. it is great too. it might be a little dated as far as the look of the video, but the content is EXCELLENT!!!! you can buy the book too.
we LOVE doing marital retreats, conferences, seminars, etc. they are SO beneficial to the marriage!

I've been thinking about the Homebuilders series. You think it's that great? OK - there's a vote for Homebuilders. Make it two. I'll vote for it too.
