Oh geez, ya wusses! The more you move around, the faster you'll heal! Now, MOVE! :whip:
mdolls68 - September 1, 2006 02:02 AM (GMT)
I've been exercising on a regular basis, just not obsessing about it. I've been doing weightlifting (full body) 2x/week, 2 yoga classes, and cardio when I can. I'm maintaining my weight, but I'm down 20-25 lbs overall this year. It would be nice to be down another 10-15 lbs by the end of the year. I won't be to my goal, but that puts me closer.
I just haven't felt like documenting too much, except I keep my documentation simple in my bodybuilding forum. Haven't been too good with my blog entries for exercise, food, and sleep. Oh well.

I so totally disagree! I've had three c-sections and the pain from them was horrendous! The more I moved the sorer I got so I stayed as stationary as I could and I healed quite fine. those abdomnal surgeries are killer! (for those of you who've never had one)

I agree....when I had my gallbladder surgery it knocked me for a loop for a couple weeks! And THAT was laproscopic, so I can't imagine a c-section...

I think raspy's bypass would be even worse than c-section...

My c-sections were a breeze. I was on my feet with 8 hours of both, which really speeds recovery. I had no problems whatsoever.

Why did you have CSections? Were they health imperative or a choice?

Sarah got stuck. 20 hours of labor, 5 hours of pushing, and her head was stuck. She began to experience fetal distress, so I had to have an emergency c-section.
Sean was 3 months premature. My vitals were not good. They were balancing everything, trying to keep me alive and conscious so they could deliver him and stop my symptoms. They had this really narrow window to take him before my liver failed. From what I understand too, they wanted to do it while I was able to be awake in case Sean died.

We actually took a Bradley class for the first one, He was a c-section because my water had been broken for 20 hours and even after 20 hours of hard labor (including 30 hours with pitocin) I was only dilated to 5 cm.
We had just started a private Bradley refresher course for the second, when my water broke at 33 1/2 weeks for Phillip. He was a c-section, because after 3 days of leaking fluid, he was in distress.
ETA: oh yeah, C-sections suck! My recovery was horrific for the first, and pretty bad for the 2nd.

After what I have been told was two hours of pushing, and the vacuum on her head and pul twice she wasn't coming. Wheeled me down to c-section room and turned out she was 10 lbs 9 oz. Too big for me! the other times I chose to do c-sections because of the risks associated with VBAC(vaginal birth after ceesarian). That and I carried the first 42 weeks and had to be induced because it just wasn't coming naturally and by scheduling c-section I could go in at 38 weeks. And Elijah, although literally born 4 weeks fewer gestation, weighed in at 8 lbs 9 oz. Had I let him come naturally, he probably would have reached 9 1/2 or 10 lbs too...Third time, same reasons. Risks of VBAC can be deadly...And that scheduling thing is quite convenient as an added bonus. I was able to let everyone know when "the big day" would be and hub pre-arranged for time off, etc...
