Title: Re-introducing myself...
amapele - August 10, 2006 10:20 PM (GMT)
I haven't been around in a long time, especially posting, but I pop in every once in a while and read and lurk :) Chittybang caught me last night and through her sweet welcome and encouragement, I'm going to *try* to get active here!
My baby, Cara, turned 2 in May and my days are spent being her maid, cook, taxi driver, hair stylist (this one happens at least 5 times a day because a princess always has to look her best   ), playmate, librarian, snuggle buddy, and occasionally, the mean mommy. :D She keeps me hopping, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
My husband and I also found out just last week that we are expecting again. Unfortunately, this was not a planned pregnancy, and due to my medication, it's not a good thing. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and the medication that is used to treat it is detrimental to unborn babies, causing major birth defects or death. It is often used to end ectopic pregnancies. We obviously have always taken precautions to prevent pregnancy (unless it was planned, aka, Cara), but I guess we're living proof that even the best of intentions with birth control aren't always successful. My doctor is of course, urging abortion, but we end those discussions before they have a chance to start. If God doesn't intend for this pregnancy to go to term, He will be the one ending it, not us. At this point, we are praying for a successful pregnancy. We would love to have more children, and have discussed it, but because we have been told that I had to stop medication for 4 months prior to even trying to conceive, we had decided to wait. Neither my husband or I felt as though my body was in a condition where we felt it would be wise to stop medication for over a year. Yet another plan that didn't work. :) I, of course, stopped the day the test came back positive, and my body isn't happy these days. With Cara, I was able to go into remission at about 3-4 months, so I'm hoping the same thing happens this time around...otherwise, this is going to be a long 9 months! Anyway, all of that to say this...Hopefully, next April, Cara will have a happy and HEALTHY new baby brother or sister!
I would love to get to know everyone on here! During my occasionally lurking moments, it's obvious that you are all such wonderful people and have so much fun! I'm looking forward to "meeting" you all!!!
Thanks for letting me come play with you!!!
His,
Lacey

Hi Lacey!
Glad to see you've come out of the shadows. I'll stand in agreement with you guys for an orderly pregnancy. I know as someone who got pregnant twice on birth control, that God is an awesome God, and He doesn't allow things to happen by accident.
God bless you!
