:poop: So now getting up at 4 AM is not early enough to let the do out to poo! why can't this dog wait till daylight like every other beast on the planet!!! :nono: :ticked: :ticked: :ticked: :guns: :ar15 :puke:

I am having a hard time trying to restrain the resentment toward my husband for getting her.. :( Add that to the other things and it is really difficult..

There really is no purpose to this thread.......Sorry to take up this space..

andiesmama - August 2, 2006 03:33 PM (GMT)
no taking up space, sometimes it helps to vent it out...

String, maybe you should just take the dog to your Humane Society & be done with it....can't you just tell your DH that either he steps up to start taking care of him/her OR it's going this weekend.....

Stringaling - August 2, 2006 03:41 PM (GMT)
He told me he'd get another one, and that having a house dog is important to him.. And from where I am it seems that having that dog is more important to him than my feelings about the whole thing.. :(

I am just thankful I have a carpet shampooer...

it's cheap...like 5 bucks a gallon.

Stringaling - August 2, 2006 07:26 PM (GMT)
Last night I heard the dog chewing somehitng and saw the last little bit of a hard plastic thing drop out of her mouth. I think she ate one of the kids toys or something. I cna't figure out what it could have been. I was so hopeful.......but she's been acting fine today...

axeheadfloating - August 3, 2006 12:46 AM (GMT)
Your husband...

I like the antifreeze idea... I might be able to help with that...

But he is so daggum stubborn.

Respect you is what I told him.

:box:

andiesmama - August 3, 2006 11:34 AM (GMT)
sorry, but the animal lover that I am is really hoping this whole anti-freeze thing is a sick joke....

If you're wanting to get rid of the dog, take it to the humane society. You say your hubby will just get another dog, the same thing'll happen whether you cold-heartedly kill it or drop it off so somebody can give it a loving home....

Too bad I don't live closer, I'd come & take her today....

andiesmama - August 3, 2006 11:41 AM (GMT)
By the way, this is what happens after an animal drinks antifreeze....it's not the "painless death" everyone thinks it is...

QUOTE
In the early stages of toxicity, which occurs minutes to hours after drinking antifreeze, animals become depressed, ataxic (poor balance, wobbly gait), and begin vomiting.  This is the stage when treatment can save lives.  Irreparable kidney damage occurs within days if there is no medical intervention.  Later, signs include loss of appetite, depression, ataxia, weakness, vomiting, increased thirst and urination, and even convulsions.  Most animals die after falling into a coma.

QUOTE
The antifreeze works quickly.  Within 30-60 minutes, the animal shows signs of depression, has a look of fear and becomes ataxic (stumbling).  Then vomiting is soon followed by paralysis, and within 6 to 12 hours, coma.

I would never do that. I think Squat was joking...I can't even make her stay outside because of the heat and because she is not adapted to it. I don't like her but I can't make her suffer..

squatpuke - August 3, 2006 02:37 PM (GMT)
The antifreeze should help with the "heat" problem also....

ROFLOL @ sqwat an @ Deb for gittin all uppity wit the man here LOL

Seriously though, where is the line String? When does enuff become enuff? I don't pretend to understand your religious doctrines etc but I have a hard time believein that your husband who 'follows' them etc er in other words you've said in the past bout how the one priest guy isn't as traditional etc as your husband wants em to be er the like, the point bein, how can what he's forcin here be sumthin of good?

I'm wit Deb, jes do away wit the thin as humanly as possible of course, I normally jes shoot my unwanted animals but I realize that's not an option for you er the like but it's quick an humane. Sumthins gotta give here, stubborness is an annoyin thin - thankfully I am not a stubborn man er the like :) but years ago my maw bought some dishes a whole set an it pissed my dad off so much he broke everone of em, so the next day she went an bought em agin an told em she'd jes keep buyin em til HE was broke hehe

I don't understand your relationship wit your hubby an the like but would an ultimatum work? Seriously, he's the one that wants the animal an he's expectin you to take care of it. He can jes as easily take the damn thin to work wit em so far as I'm concerned er start boardin the thin somewhere's. This is his choice an should be his responsibility. If he's not goin to do it for you, then you are goin to havta do it for yoursef.

Granted this is all easier said then done, but by golley sumthin has got to give an your marriage is not worth a dog.... er..... is it to him?

Honey - August 7, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
Do what you think is best for your sanity. Get rid of the dog or put up with it. Heck, how much would a bullet cost? That way you don't have to clean up dog :puke: Or watch it suffer otherwise. I've seen my dad shoot a couple dogs when I was a kid. One was simply because the dog chased the chickens and mangled them up. Shot him right between the eyes. Dog never knew what hit him and he just dropped. End of story. Onto a new dog! His name was Bear....for good reason!

But seriously, this is unnecessary stress. Think how relieved you'll be once you've gotten it out of the way!

Stringaling - August 8, 2006 01:05 PM (GMT)
I calling the vert to get eh number to the SPCA and a couple of animalk rescue places this morning! Wke again to s**t and pi** on the boys' floor..... Hey! Its 8:00 now! Maybe someone will be open for me to call. I'll come back in a while and let you know what's going on...

Honey - August 8, 2006 01:08 PM (GMT)
What, String? I could barely make out your post!

Stringaling - August 8, 2006 01:09 PM (GMT)
SPCA doesn't open till 10..... :bored:

Stringaling - August 8, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
Okay...so I've called around and learned that rescue groups do not take "personal pets" So they only take dogs from shelters..So I'll have to take her to the shelter

I'm glad.....you'll be rid of the stress and she'll be adopted by an ENTIRE family willing to take care of her....does your hubby know your decision?

Oh, yeah. since she is crapp9ing everywhere he is okay with it. He didn't think a dog would behave that waay, because none of the dogs he had as a child did, but this one obviously does. I told him to email his coworker that he got the dog from to give her a last chance to get the dog back. He sent her an email this morning.

clayman - August 8, 2006 05:30 PM (GMT)
I'm glad you're finding a resolution to the problem. Maybe that's why the people didn't want the dog...

Stringaling - August 8, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
The woman had her for three years and cried when she gave her away. But she gave her away because she is caring for her elderly(what a word!) mom and the dog kept getting under her mom's feet. Cliff emailed her this morning about possibly taking her back and she will talk to her mother tonight and let us know tomorrow...If she doesn't want her, she's going to the shelter and hopefully the ARF-Animal Rescue Foundation-will get her...
