.
What the heck is up with all the "fuel surcharges"....
1st the garbage man, then the propane man, NOW the electric company is jumping my bill up with a "fuel surcharge"....
Sheesh, not only do I pay more to fill my car, but I gotta pay more to fill up all the utility trucks as well...
Why not just jump up the overall price?

   SERIOUSLY!!! I've gotta pay more for gas, EVERYBODY does....it all evens out, I don't think I should have to have my electric bill upped sky-high for inflated gas prices....that means I'm basically paying TWICE....:wall:

Oh....My...freakin'....GOSH!!!!
EVERYONE is telling customers that they are being charged a fuel surchage because trucker's rates have gone up...
WE ARE NOT GETTING IT!!!! EVERYONE ELSE IS PUTTING IT IN THEIR OWN POCKETS WHILE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE ACTUALLY PAYING FOR THE FUEL ARE LEFT TO PAY THE HIGH PRICES!!!! WE ARE JUST TRYING TO MAKE ENDS MEET AND ALL THESE GREEDY BIGWIGS WHO HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY ARE KEEPING OUR FUEL SURCHARGES!!!!! WE SPEND OVER $6000 A MONTH ON FUEL!!!!! THEN THE GOVERNMENT THEN TAXES US AGAIN ON THE FUEL THAT WE ALREADY PAID TAX ON AT THE PUMP!!!!!! ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!
I've lost count of the number of times over we are paying for the same fuel...

Oh it doesn't make me mad, ya'll are the poor dumb suckers lettin em git away wit it. In fairness to the electric companies though, its unrelated to trucks overall, cause its like you said, your buyin thier fuel, not payin a surcharge for my fuel.
Call your congressmen, tell em this craps gotta stop. The federal gov't mandated a fuel surcharge for trucks when fuel is over 1.25 a gallon... right now accordin to the gov't I should be recievin sumthin like a 1.75 per gallon over the miles in fuel charges alone. We have jes one customer that actually does pay a surcharge an his is only............ 6 cents a gallon..... As bad as thins are I welcome that 6 cents but in reality it isn't enuff. No one will enforce the fuel surcharge an these companies are not liein to you when they are passin the fuel surcharge onto you, not entirely anyways, the chances are very high that thier brokerage is chargin it to em an sayin it is required, mean while we sit here on the verge of death.
Deb your not exactly right bout thins balancin out really, for example, the load I have right now pays a gross of 1260.00 on 900 miles, works out to 1.40 a mile. 3 years ago I was gittin a 1.00 a mile for the same load, three years ago I was payin 1.10 to 1.40 in fuel. My rates haven't climbed like the fuel er what companies are chargin an its that way cross the entire industry, someone is gittin the fuel surcharge, but it is not the truckin companies.
Out of that 1.40 btw, my cost per mile in fuel alone is .60 cents, takin that on the best, its always far worse, then that leaves jes .80 cents to pay the payment, works out to bout nother .12 cents a mile. An I haven't paid any taxes, wear an tear, a whole bunch of other expenses, I'd list em but I'm gittin into town now, but jes that leaves me .68 cents to pay everthin else.
Anyways, welcome to my frustrations, as you can see Sarah's a bit fussy bout it to.

Supermarket prices went up as well, oats used to cost $1 for a container full, now it’s $1.30 for the same container. Just one example that I'm sure is due to freight cost.
We have enough untapped oil here to fuel North America for 1000 years, but they don’t tap it, it’s just twisted.

I'm glad you brought that up, I'm goin to show jes how messed up that is.
Le's say for example an to keep whole numbers that that container of oats is one pound for a 1.30, .30 cents more then it used to be. Now any truck on the road can carry 40,000 pounds of said oats. The loads value used to be 40,000 dollars, but now that same loads value is 52,000. An increase of 12,000 bucks. Do you really think the shipper paid out 12,000 in freight charges?
Granted, the price of oats could have gone up, so we'll give the farmer an all his middle men half the increase. Cuts it back to 6,000 dollars on jes one load. Still, there are very few loads in the US that would ever even pay 6,000 to go from one end to the other.
This is exactly the propganda that the truckin industry fights all the time. The general public hates trucks to begin wit, but then the trucks also git the blame for higher prices everwhere. When in literal fact the truckin company never see's a dime of any of it. The middle men between the producer an the truck take up all the money, imagine if I was gittin 6,000 grand to haul that load, even haulin it from one end to the other, round bout 3000 miles. That would be 2.00 a mile to me. They have the consumer bent over a barrel claimin its the trucks fault an the brokers have us over a barrel claimin the shipper won't pay any more. I have a "good" payin load right now at 1.40 a mile, the load I jes got done wit only paid me a buck a mile. Daily truck companies are goin under, an one everone is watchin closely right now is Werner *sky blue trucks an trailers wit gold letterin) These guys are right on the verge of goin under an they are a multi-million dollar company. They have capital, but they are talkin bout goin out of buisness. As mean as it sounds I would like to see a very large company go under to brin some actual aweraness to the troubles, not jes media hipe.
Ya know, number of years ago, there was an article published that said of the wells that they knew of in the state of Texas, we could supply the entire US an our military wit fuel oil for 50 years. An that was of the wells they actually knew of. How sad an stupid it truly is. I think the US is simply tryin to run the rest of the world out of oil so then we'd have it all. I think that is of course stupid since I'm positive God will return long before that was ever an issue.
