Why is it that every time I get settles in bed at night to go to sleep, my husband has to start putting off malodorous emmissions?!?!?! I mean ther have been times taht I am 90% asleep when my olfactory senses were assaulted by his fumes and I was wrenched from sleep!!! What is the deal?? It never fails. Every single night..........:puke:

As the body relaxes, the muscles that hold in those malodorous emissions relax. What follows is the release of pent-up gases. These gases were created by his body's inability to digest whatever food he ate that day...

Ball's in YOUR court! :haha:

I don't know about your theory, Clay...He does it all day while he is awake too...He says it is the fiber and healthy foods in his diet. He had a health prof once say that when the critters in your intestines are happy, they are gassy, so he equates gas with good food and happy tummy critters..

I think String and Basil deserve their own sitcom. They have the funniest moments with each other.

The health prof is half right. My doctor explained it to me once when I went to see about excessive flatulence.

There are bacteria in your body that help digest food. Some things the bacteria can break down for you, and others -- well, like when yeast eats sugar it gives off gas. The most infamous food that bacteria have issues with is beans. Cabbage and dairy are other foods that cause problems. When yeast eats sugar it gives off carbon dioxide. When E. Coli eats beans, it gives off methane with some sulfur. It's the sulfur that really reeks.

So - when you are truly seeking to resolve the gassy issue, check this one out: http://www.drugs.com/CG/GASSY_FOODS_DIET.html

Yes, Dr. String, I googled health info, too! :haha:
