Title: Speaking of bras & lingerie....

andiesmama - July 5, 2006 06:15 PM (GMT)
I need some new stuff!! Mainly bras...

Where do you guys buy yours? Brand you've found to be the best?

What kind? Underwire? or not? Lined? or not?

Padded? Push-up? :eyebrows:

Honey - July 5, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
I just go to plain, old Walmart for my stuff. I like Bestform and I see that they're changing their line of style again! WHY do they always do this? They're slightly padded and not wired, but that other stuff....like a thick twine....geesh, I forget the name! Walmart had alot of bras on sale and I found a black Bestform my size and got it for 4 bucks. I have one or 2 push-ups for when I wanna feel "perky", or just plain sexy for the hub. (hubba, hubba! :eyebrows: ) I don't like sports bras. They just squish the boobs together and make you look flat and wide....yech!

Lingerie....let's see....I need to expand that wardrobe, too. Hmm.

Stringaling - July 5, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
I gave up on the walmart bras ages ago. They just don't have much that works for me in my size...I havent quite settles on a brand or store yet. Still searching...

ChittyBang6 - July 5, 2006 11:41 PM (GMT)
I KNOW THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY MORE IF YOU GO TO VICTORIA SECRET, BUT I THINK IT IS TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY. I HAVE GOTTEN THREE BRAS THERE SINCE MY YOUNGEST WAS BORN AND THEY HAVE ALL BEEN WONDERFUL!! I AM PRETTY FULL IN THAT AREA....IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN :eyebrows: , SO I NEED SOMETHING THAT IS GOING TO GIVE ME SUPPORT, BE SOFT AROUND THE SHOULDERS, LIFT W/O MAKING ME CHOKE ON THEM, AND LIGHTWEIGHT SO I DON'T SWEAT EASILY. VICTORIA SECRET HAS ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE EVER NEEDED IN A BRA AND I WILL ALWAYS BUY THEIRS BECAUSE ANYWHERE ELSE JUST SEEMS TO BE GOOD IN ONE OR TWO AREAS THAT I NEED, AND THEN LACKING IN SOME OTHER AREA. I'VE NEVER FOUND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE V.S. ONES SO FAR......PLUS....THEY COME IN SO MANY STYLES, COLORS, ETC. FUN FUN!!! MAKES ME FEEL VERY GIRLIE, VERY SEXY, AND VERY COMFY ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!

GOOD LUCK....AND HAPPY SHOPPING!

VS doesn't really work for me. Wal-mart and Target don't carry my size, either. I'm due for some new bras, but I hate to spend the money.

That's me....and just the actual part of getting out & buying them. I canNOT make a trip to WalMart without spending some bucks....I guess I just need to practice some self-control & just go DO IT!!!

I agree with Chitty. I like VS's bras. Sometimes I'll buy Target's or some major department store's bras, but the VS's work best for me. I tend to like the ones that are seamless. I also like sexier bras. I'm not huge, nor small, so a lot of bras work for me.

The only real issue is my nipples are ALWAYS very perky. This has been a real distraction for men and women, so I need bras that have more padding in the front and even at that, they are still wanting to pop out.

I've had a couple co-workers complain to me that are men because it totally distracted them all the time in meetings that they couldn't focus on their stuff.

So they complained to you...What did they expect you to do? Flip an "off" switch??? Geez! Men

mdolls68 - August 9, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
I took it as a complaint because it was causing them to really mess up in their work and they were getting dinged for it. I can't turn them off, but I did go out and buy less sexier bras and bras with padding in the front.

My normal mode of dress is clingy stuff. Baggy stuff doesn't look good on me.

I know my personal trainer, Josh, is surrounded by breasts, so he is good at not being distracted. In my training, they are always way more apparent than at work, but he doesn't seem to care and has great self-control in where he keeps his eyes (away from my breasts).

I hope you feel that way when you're fifty-five!

ChittyBang6 - August 10, 2006 05:21 PM (GMT)
well, considering it was my GRANDMA that taught me to live this way, then i probably will see it this way still!!!! :rolf:

my husband doesn't mind them saggy, so why should i? plus, do you really think that wearing a support bra EVERY day is going to take away the sag at age 65?? i highly doubt it, personally. i lost any hope for mine to be "perky" after i had my first son and nursed for a year!

andiesmama - August 10, 2006 06:19 PM (GMT)
I KNOW mine will never be perky again....but they're not quite friends with "Mr. Bellybutton" yet.... :haha: ....I just hate the sweaty feeling I get underneath when I go braless...

Plus, I'm working out nearly every day now...:thanks:....methinks it would be KINDA uncomfortable to go without....

Honey - August 10, 2006 06:38 PM (GMT)
TMI, NIKKI! My hubby works with these women who say they go jogging....in ORDER to jog, they have to tuck their boobs into their jogging pants, otherwise they're running around with BLACK EYES! :haha:

Gimme a bra and babypowder during the summer months. Man, that does such a GREAT job! I'm not all "perky", but there is absolutely NO way there's any contact with my belly button! :o I won't let them, either. :naughty:

Maidenform is a bra manufacturer. You can buy in most department stores, heck I even sell them through Avon. BUT, we have an outlet store a couple of towns over from us. They have these unbelievable sales where I got three bras for $15! I'm used to paying $40 for one for me (My size tends to cost a wee bit more) from VS. It was like Christmas when I came home with three for half the price. Is it sad that I can get so excited over a good deal on bras?!!
