I am roughly 60 miles from the house, it's a saturday night, 7:30 my time..... jes another frickin hour an I would be home. But can I? Can I go home? Not no but hell no! Insetad I'm parked 3/4's of a mile north of the frickin state scales because I offically ran out of hours to drive for the day 30 mins ago! That an I'm not sure my wieghts are right an don't wanna spend 8 bucks to find out if they are.

I could go scale this *itch, could doctor up my log book, but none of that would do me any good if they decided to pull me in for an insepction, I'd be nailed to the frickin wall.

They calim it's all about safety, how could this possibly be?? Infact, at this scale, jes north of em they built a truck stop, an the sign that used to say wether the scales were open er not was deliberately moved further south so you MUST pass the truck stop before seein the sign! Thankfully a guy hollared on the radio an said they were open so I ducked off but how can it be about safety?? They wanna drag you in there, fine the ever livin piss outta you an then call it safety, instead, of given warnin that the scales are open an given the option to think better bout crossin the SOB's

I'm sposedly goin to be a safer driver by sittin here until my 10 hour break is complete instead of jes goin home, showerin an bein wit my wife an sleepin in my bed! Instead, I'll sit here til those suckers close the damn thin then I'll drive to the house.. probly somewhere round 2 in the frickin mornin no doubt!

I hate this life, an what's worse, I hate all the descrimination that trucks recieve, if the general public had to put up wit jes a tenth of the crap I tolerate on a daily basis there'd be revoolt aginst the gov't!

:( That really DOES stink, A2J.....

I know it's hard on Sarah, too, having you that close to home & you not being able to get there....

This may be a stupid question, but you know me... :cheeky: ....can she come GET you, you guys go back home & then sometime tomorrow drive back to get the truck??

Honey - June 25, 2006 01:32 AM (GMT)

Yeah she *could* but it's a huge amount of cost er expense to do that, if it wasn't for the fact she doesn't have a cdl liences, I'd already had er meet me up here an she could dive this itch back to the house. But she doesn't an then to I don't know bout my weights exactly, could figure em out but I hate to spend more money for sumthin as stupid as a 1000 pounds here er there. There is jes no reason for this scale to be open at all... I mean, it's saturday night, anyone leavin the valley would have left last night er this mornin, anyone goin to the valley er leavin as well won't do so til tomarra night. The only thin right now through here is stragglers, nuthin to even mess wit really, which makes it worse, they look closer at you when there's not many trucks to screw over......

Yeah Lena.... I know... I never wanted to buy this thin in the first place, but I was stuck between a rock an a hard place an pressured from my dad, who I'd like to beat the day lights out of right now. In the end it was my choice to git in this thin, but I've regretted it since the second day I bought it. Really the first day, cause that night I had already had a problem wit the stupid thin. God has blessed this truck mechanically, but as far as the buisness goes I think He said you made your bed now sleep in it.

Cain't find out if the scales are open er closed though right now, I cain't see em from here an all these guys jes keep speakin mexican on the radio so I donno, probly wait til 3 er 4 in the mornin when my book will pass inspection an go on to the house, but then I'll spend most the next day in bed tryin to catch up on sleep, jes such a frickin waste.

I couold had gone in, been there by nine at the latest had a good nights sleep an be back to work on everthin that's broke by mornin. I jes hate stupidity, btw where's Lynn? she knows what I'm talkin bout wit er dad, an you Lena, surely you git stories from your folks.

Do you know what the incredibly stupid thing is? If I had gone up there and got him he would have been totally legal and "safe" to drive the car back home. Only in a commercial vehicle are you limited on the number of hours you can drive and the hours you must sleep per day. The second a commercial driver gets out of the commercial vehicle and gets in his own personal vehicle he's good to go. If he wasn't safe to drive the commercial vehicle how come he's suddenly safe to drive his personal one?

Oh my wife, you know it's far more stupid then that, by law, I can drop my trailer, stay in my truck an drive it til hell freeze's over an so long as it's personal use an the load isn't advanced I'm the safest guy in the world....... that's what makes me so mad, it truly is not bout the safety, it's bout how much money they can git out of you

Dude....you SERIOUSLY need a different job.

IF i hated my job as much as you,if it kept me away from my family as much as it does, I would do whatever tit takes to get another job. Take the sacrifice if it means peace and happiness and no more time lost from your wife and daughter. I, personally would do whatever it takes to get out of the position you are in...

It's truly jes not that easy unfortuneatly. We've played wit all sorts of ways bout tryin to git out from under this thin, but it's like anythin else, the second you sign your name to sumthin for ownership it loses 20% in depreciation because it then becomes pre-owned. We've been workin on gittin it paid to a point that if we did sale the thin it wouldn't be takin a loss, not that I'm tryin to make a bunch of money er anythin, but you cain't give a claer title to sumthin that has a note on it. That an jes repairs, taxes the list goes on an on, it's jes not a matter of gittin another job. Less of course one of ya'll knows someone that's goin to hire me for bout 80k a year lol

We screwed up, more importantly, I screwed up by buyin this truck out right. I was so desperate to git out of my dad's truck wit em cause he was jes screwin me daily so I bailed as quickly as I could, what I *should* have done was gone to work for someone else, found out that this wasn't goin to work an then did sumthin else. It was really sad when I had drivers, they made more then I did an they didn't have the overhead in expenses.

But... I think God has said this is your bed you've made now you goin to sleep in it, an I wonder if we're on our own at sortin it out, have been wonderin for a few years now.

Kerense and I have felt the same way about our house. We jumped into a house, without knowing much about houses. We've learned a lot on the way. But, we can't sell it 'cuz we're so upside-down in it, and there are so many repairs that need to be made. When we do get it all fixed-up, we'd like to buy a couple acres for a cow and some yard eggs. Oh - and let the dog run. And get away from this %(@&( homeowner's association!
