Apparently, I've got it made and I didn't even know it.

It took nearly three years for me to be comfortable with my place in life as a stay-at-homeschool dad with extremely little time for me. I'm not completely satisfied with it, and I'm working hard to get out of it. But, I'm comfortable with it.

Gone are the endless days of job-searching followed by endless nights of taking care of the kids and struggling to keep house until the wee hours when my wife got home. Gone are the hours of wading through countless job announcements trying to find the one that might work for me.

Now, I've found a place that works, and this place includes a little free time for me. So, my wife's angry that she doesn't get any time for herself. And she's mad at me 'cuz I do. I know - she's just jealous, but when she let me know tonight that she's mad, I asked her why. She said it's because all she does is work and come home to spend time with the kids. She never has any time for herself.

I've told her on numerous occasions to take off. Go to Denny's for a couple of hours. Take off Friday night and use your Sheraton points for a luxury night out. She won't do it, then she gets mad 'cuz she doesn't have any time.

How the heck am I supposed to help her? I take the kids out for the evening; I tell her to take off; and she still complains that it's not enough. Tonight, she said she didn't have enough time with the kids, then turned around and said, "I don't have any time for myself."

Do you think she'd go if YOU made the reservations? Is there a day spa around your place you could send her to? Can you get her Sheraton points info stuff & get her a hotel reservation secretly?

If the stuff is made & paid for, then maybe she'd go?

I need to do that with the Sheraton points. "But I'm saving that for a special night between us two!" is what she tells me.
