Title: Clay's not having a good day...

:urgh:

OK - first off, as I posted here, my kids were giving me a hard time today. They don't want to do anything, they don't want to listen... :urgh:

Then, we went to the YMCA to sign up Nichole for Day Camp. Well, we're on their scholarship program, so we're on a waiting list. :urgh:

Then, we found out just how screwed up the wiring is in this house. Our 'formal dining room', as designed by the architects, is our 'lessons room'. Our network equipment is in there, as well (cable modem, router, telephone adapter and wireless hub). Due to the fact that our central air quit working last summer, we have a window unit in there. Well, today, the circuit blew. Nichole was playing a game on the computer and started crying because the game was lost. The A/C quit. I unplugged everything, made sure the network equipment came on line and restarted the A/C. Two minutes later, it happened again. :urgh:
So Kerense noticed that the deep fryer (which is in the kitchen, not the 'formal dining room') wasn't working either. This is the first time we've used it when the window unit was running. OK - so this outlet in the kitchen is on the same circuit as those in the 'formal dining room'. She moved teh fryer and it seems to be staying up.

My day: :urgh:!

I know how it is with those stupid circuts. Two rooms in our 60 year old house are on the same circut. And lord knows how much of the rest on the house is on a singe circut. Scary thing is for our breaker only has literally five circuts, so when one gets flipped a large chunk of the house electric goes out.

Hope it gets better!

Our house is a disaster as well. Different rooms share different circuits and they are so messed up that after 5 years of living here we still don't know which brakers are for which rooms/outlets!

Well, 13 days between bad days - not too bad. Hmmm. 13 seems to be prevalant here - 06/13 was the last one and 13 days later another one.

First off, our A/C is broke. Been broke for about a year. Here in Yewsten, a summer without A/C is like a winter in Canada without heat. Well, I woke up this morning at 5am in a pool of sweat. Gotta wring out the pillow and the mattress pad, wash it all and make up the bed again. Moved to the couch for the rest of the morning. Woke up at 7 with a sore knee from it being bent. (our biggest couch is shorter than me. Wish I was Lena's height!)

When the kids woke up, they came out with both barrels a-blazin'! Man, they were into everything. I got this old brass jalopy music box. They broke the handle off it. Then they were dragging stuff all over my computer room (where I happen to locked in at the moment - my choice, locked so nobody will bother me) while I was getting breakfast ready. I issued a decree that there will be NO TV for the rest of the day except what I want to watch. If it happens to coincide with what you want to watch, consider yourself very lucky!

Nichole (she's 7. She needs to learn how to pour her own cereal, right?) poured cereal all over the kitchen counter. Then, instead of picking it up and putting it in either her bowl or back in the box, she sweeps it all onto the floor and calls the dog over. Yep, the dog had a good breakfast.

And that's only breakfast! So, after about a hour of wrangling, I get the kids to start cleaning up their room. I sit down and get even more ticked while on the 'net. So, I start calling electric companies (ours went to 16.9¢ / kWh) for a better rate. Our own company couldn't even tell me that the 16.9 would be effective for this bill! I found a guarantee for 24 months at 14.9¢ and took it. That'll save us about $250/yr. on our electric bill. Not a bad thing.

Kids were still on the rampage, however, and I had to keep telling them to shut up and don't interrupt me while I'm on the phone. "Daddy, will you put the leg back on my doll? Daddy, will you blow this up? Daddy... Daddy... Daddy..." :urgh:

Then I called Vonage to sign up. Good plan and all, but after I gave my final approval for everything, I did the math - I can't afford the $50 for a new telephone adapter right now. But the lady on the phone said she'd send my order number by email. So I called back to cancel, but waited 25 minutes on hold to find out they couldn't do anything without an order number. :urgh: Finally, I got an e-mail. It didn't have an order number, but it did have an account number. I called back, waited 27 minutes for a live person (when I wanted to sign up, I got right through. When I want to cancel...). Got the order cancelled.

Lunchtime. Fixed a good healthy meal for the girls consisting of fried fish, salad and this really good okra, tomato and noodle stuff Kerense makes. They wouldn't touch anything but the fish sticks.. Came back and said they were hungry. I said, "Eat all your lunch, then we'll talk about something else." Neither of them would touch their food. Then they got mad at me 'cuz they were hungry. :ticked:

So, after lunch, I tried to get them to clean up some of the mess they made while I was making lunch. Whining and crying ensued. I lost it. I started yelling and screaming at them, telling them that they need to obey if they ever want to play again. When my wife came home, I was in a foul mood. Really foul. And she wasn't happy. She said I spend too much time on the computer. Huh? :screwy: I wasn't on the computer all day! Heck, I suspended myself on FHL, I couldn't post there! I was fighting the girls all dayto get the house clean!

Well, I got some dinner ready and while Nichole was at the neighbor's house and Kristen was asleep, Kerense and I ate some dinner.

Then Kristen woke up. I got some stuff ready for her and Kerense went out to work in the yard. It's her thing she likes to do - she has asked me to let her do it so she can call it exercise. Fine.

Nichole and her friend come over and start causing trouble. Twice, Kerense overruled me on sending Jade home. The second time, I left. I got in my car and drove away. I went to Sonic and got a Apple/Cranberry Juice Slush.user posted image

Kerense and the kids are back at Jade's house in the pool. I'm here vegging. I don't plan on doing a ^((@#$ thing for the rest of the night. If this room weren't so (#*@( hot, I'd just spend the night in here.

Awww, your day sounds real awful! I've got tomorrow ALL to myself (hopefully, unless someone needs a baby-sitter which I seem to be popular for...) If I could baby-sit your kids for a day or 2, I would! Hope things get better soon!

Oh, being short isn't all THAT great, either. You get folks calling you "shorty", which I've been called all my life.... :tease:

Anyways, praying for ya, bro!

Nah - I was looking for a picture of the Sonic logo to put in there and found this one instead. Look really close - that's the Sonic logo on the fries box... I thought it fit quite nicely.

This is what my car looks like (only it's gray)! :)

Kerense kept saying all day that it sounded like work of spirits. I didn't listen until too late. I did pray for the torment to stop last night. It took a while. Lots of crying. But it finally did. I woke up this morning and prayed that it won't happen again.
