Remember Susan Powter? The STOP THE INSANITY lady from the 80s? I saw her on GMA yesterday...she's baaack. I remember her ideas were always very reasonable and balanced. She lost something like 140 lbs. a long time ago and kept it off. She's been out of the spotlight for 8 years I think, because she had a baby. She's got a new program that sounds really, well-rounded. For $8.95 you they'll mail you an intro package which gives you an exercise DVD and an explanation of her program, plus 30 days access to a bunch of neat web tools. Then every month for a year she'll send you a DVD to check out. It's $19.99 plus $6.95 shipping plus access to the website. You can review the DVD and send it back at no charge. Here's the link to her site: Susan Powter official site

Gliding Discs
OK, then I saw this really neat exercise...thing, in Woman's World magazine. Check out this link: Gliding Discs

These things look like inverted frisbees that you put under your feet. You can pretty much do any exercise but, from what I understand, it helps work your core muscles more because you have to keep your core stabilized while sliding around. It was $19.99 plus shipping.

ok....the Gliding Discs?? I KNOW I'd break my neck!! :D

I just bought a set of Pilates DVDs....I kept hearing how great it was for getting in shape, so I thought, "Why not?" I found them for a reasonable price on Ebay.

Anyways, it came with 3 DVDs, one to teach you the basics, one that's a half hour long, and one that's an hour long....the program I'm doing is 3 days a week of the hour one & 3 days of the half hour.

I must say I was skeptical the first day I did it, because all it is is stretching & stuff...but lemme tell you, later that night boy! could I feel it!!

So I give it a  for now....of course, this is only day 3 for me.... B)

I'd break more than my neck with a disc! I'd probably shatter my pevis! *insert holding crotch smiley here* What's the diff between using those or a frisbee?! Youch!

Wifey did abs o' steel for YEARS. So much so that the VHS tape went bad.

I love Winsor Pilates. They won't help you lose weight, but they make you feel so good while you're trying to lose weight! If you read the material that comes with it Mari tells you to do 30-40 minutes of cardio along with her program to lose weight and tone up.

Beach Body tapes/DVDs are great too. I have 7 minute thighs. Talk about walking like an old lady! It hurts so bad, but it works so well. Need to dust that one off now that I'm thinking about it...
