Title: Cookies Anyone?

LynnMcG - December 4, 2005 02:49 AM (GMT)
I made the best cookies tonight! I bought those new chocolate carmel chips and made toll house cookies with them. Oh my gosh, they were great. You guys have to try them.

Which reminds me...do you ladies make Christmas cookies? What kind?

Does anyone have a recipe for ginger bread men? I think Kat would really like to make them.

I don't do home-made....well, the closest I come is the sugar cookie mix you buy pre-made, then I roll it out myself! lol

But for now, that's good enough for Andie...she also likes the cookies that you just break apart & put on the cookie sheet, and they make some now that are shapes you just punch out of a sheet of dough!

I can't make gingerbread. I can't stand the smell of molassis. eww

But I saw a kit at a craft store for a gingerbread house. The walls and stuff come in the kit, already made. You put it together and decorate it with candy. I think I'm going to pick one up next week. Sarah would have such a blast doing that.

Sounds good...I used to make all sorts of really cool Christmas cookies, but about 2-3 yrs ago, I went anti-refined sugar and white flour. That stuff is really addicting.

last year I bought some of those kits & had people over to decorate the houses...it was really fun! These kits had the houses pre-made, so all you did was decorate them. Of course, you couldn't eat the gingerbread, but Andie had fun days afterwards picking the candy OFF the house & eating it!!

How come you couldn't eat the ginger bread? My mother in law bought my brother and sister in law one of these last year and I remember we ate everything including the ginger bread.

Well, you might have been able to, but my thinking was that I had no idea how long they'd been in that box (there wasn't an expiration date or anything)...PLUS a piece broke off the roof and it looked pretty dry & hard....

Maybe one year I'll be brave & make one from scratch.... :rolf:

Foodtv.com has a Christmas cookie email subscription you can sign up for. It's the 12 days of Christmas I think. Sometimes the cookies are complicated, but once in a while you get a nice, simple cookie that even I can handle!
