You bunch of numb nuts.... it ain't got nuthin to do wit the way I says it! It's the way ya'll says it that's wrong! Duh! Geeezzz took me a lil while to figure that out but by golley I finally got it! Suck on em apples for a bit!

Sarah - May 21, 2006 07:16 PM (GMT)
This is how a "normal" person says it:

Tell my tale (TAY-ll) on FHL (F H E-ll)

This is how A2J says it:

Tell my tale (TAY-ull) on FHL (F H AY-ull)

Your such an arse...................

I'm obviously the only "normal" one left round here... your phonixs are all fowled up!

amyroo - May 21, 2006 07:22 PM (GMT)
Why say it with 1 syllable, when you can say it with 2? :rolf:

Consonance, you mean?
I think that's the right word.

I have to agree with Mandy - it's consonance (also known as alliteration) -- lots of words with the same sound. Kinda like "Kerense's Creamy Coffee and Confections" - it's alliteration using the K/C sound. One of my favorite poetic devices! I use it quite often.

Don't worry, I'm not jealous of you in any way....trust me on that one. :haha: I'll just leave you to your lil Texan fantasy world and you can pronounce all the words you want, any way you want....freak. :P

I membered part of that song, cain't say as I know who sung it but here goes: "Buttermillk biscuits, here we go, zip? the flour roll the doe, butter milk biscuits"

I been tryin to member more of that, but I cain't seem to git it, gotta look that one up.

An I don't give a rats rump whatchya'll think I know this rythmes, I'm not totally inept ya know... I says it to mysef out loud, I says it to Sarah out loud, it frickin rythmes! it's got all em L souonds at the end of it, an they are equally spaced out between em!

I says it rythmes an I think it ddoes, I really cain't see why it doesn't. Sarah's phonetical lesson there sorta went over my head a bit, haven't got a clue bout that either.

Not the way I say them. Tell has the "eh" sound while Tale has the "ay" sound. Short e sound versus long a sound ar equite different to me..

If anything "Tell" and FHL" rhyme better than "tale" and FHL"

Okay now-- I just saw this. Now I understand!

I'm gonna have to step up and be the English major that I am.. Consonance is the repititiopn of the consonant sound at the end of words whereas alliteration is the repition of the sound at the beginning of words. In A2J's case, he seems to have used both

Tell my Tale --Alliteration

Tell my Tale on FHL --Consonance

You know, I think we might have a hidden talent in our midst......

A2J rapping would be something like Cowboy Troy meets Roy Rogers...
