Title: How Often Do You...

...change your handbag?

If you've been in the marriage forum of CF lately, I'm sure you thought this was going to be about sex!

OK, so I need a new handbag and just can't seem to make up my mind. Do I go cheap again? Do I want a shoulder strap? Lots of pockets, no pockets? Neutral browns/black or seasonal colors?

I don't usually put this much thought into my purse. But I used to when I worked. I would change my bags seasonally. One of my SILs changes her bag with every outfit.

What do you ladies do?

I don't even own a handbag. The closest thing I've ever had to one was a diaper bag when my daughter was a baby

I just about gave myself a nervous breakdown asking the same questions earlier this spring and trying to shop for the perfect bag. Then I found a great purse in the back of my closet. I guess, I just need to change things up a couple of times a year.

That is just too funny.

In the past 7 years, I've basically used 2 handbags - purses, maybe 3.

Early in our marriage, my husband bought me this really expensive handbag that I really wanted. It's got to be too big and heavy, so I switched back to my black Coach backpack purse. I tend to like really simple purses that are functional. My favorite purses are by Coach. I think they make quality products. Mine get a lot of abuse.

I would expect to pay at least $300 for a good purse that lasts for a long time.

I have some handbags for dressier occasions, but not for every day.

My backpack purse isn't real big, but it holds a small wallet, highlighters, pens, business cards, receipts, Vaseline, an apple, my supplements/meds, a couple Clif bars, some nuts, Kleenex, and occasionally a couple small toys for the kids.

I wanted something that isn't going to break my back carrying, but is big enough to hold more if I need. Black goes with most of my stuff...so would a brown/tan or gray. I go for quality over anything when getting a new purse and I stick with very simplistic styles, functional, fit. The backpack works well, as sometimes I have kids hanging on me or other bags in my arms....

Just the other day I was looking at a new purse in Walmart. I change mine when they show signs of wear and tear. I can't stand for them to have holes or a frayed strap and whatnot. So yeah, I change mine pretty much every spring and winter.

Here's the bag I "want" in camel:

Coach Pebbled Leather Shoulder tote

Now, if I could only find it as a knock off...

I'd buy the real thing. It's worth every penny.

That's cute, Lynn! My DH would shoot me if I spent that much on a purse, tho.... ....but I bet you can find a knock-off somewhere...

I usually switch out in the fall & then again in the spring/summer....maybe once or twice in-between. I haven't bought a new purse in ages, tho...

oooops, take that back, I just got one for $10 from abc distributing, very cute & springy!

Quilted Purse w/Bamboo Handle

Mine's the pink/green one....

Wow! That is cute Deb! I avoided my ABC catalog this last time I got it. It's just too easy to shop...and spend.

I buy a new purse from Wal-Mart every time the strap breaks from putting too much junk in it :D About once a year.
