“The Da Vinci Code” has undermined faith in the Roman Catholic Church and badly damaged its credibility, a survey of British readers revealed Tuesday as tensions over — and hype for — the forthcoming film reached a fever pitch.

Well personnaly.... I could really careless what any catholic bla bla bla has to say bout anythin anyways, I am really tired of the world veiwin the catholic church as some sort of "the' church type thin.... espeically cause I think they are so far out in left field. That havin been said, I do agree that this is another deceptive device used by the enemy. It's sad but I believe folks are lookin at it like it's some sort of truth an that is very damagin. Jes look at any of the history channel, er all em others an seems ever other show these days is sumthin title like "Noah an the ark- the true story", er sumthin stupid like "Jesus an Mary the untold story" Literal an whole hearted bullshit plain an simple, but they protray it in such a way as to make it sound factual, then when talkin to someone who believes this stuff it true er real it's insane tryin to tell em otherwise, they cite thins like, so an so of such an such says such. An it's a real wreck tryin to combat that stuff.

I actually don't know much bout this movie an the ideas behind it etc but from what I do know bout it, it's wrong, it's deceptive an it has the potential to lead a bunch of folks further away from Christ. An folks say we aren't physically livin in the last days....................

(Ventura, CA) – Dan Brown’s novel, The Da Vinci Code , has sold more copies than any other fictional work in U.S. history. With the release of the movie adaptation on May 19, interest in this controversial tale has risen substantially.

A new nationwide survey by The Barna Group says that the book has impacted millions of lives – but perhaps not in the way that many Christians have imagined.

Huh,...really...I woulda thought it was that whole priest molesting little boys and the Church covering up thing that damaged their credibility. But whatever....

IMO, I think you have to take this info from where it's coming. Views on organized religion and faith are different in the EU than they are in other parts of the world. Some Christian scholars have been saying for a while that Europe is entering another dark age for faith. And from my understanding of the Book of Revelation, this is all in the plan. The one world religion idea is going to come out of the EU and there are going to be alot of little things that will trigger it.

I think the Catholic Church has a lot more to be concerned with creditibility-wise than somebody's fictional book about what might have happened 1000 years ago.
