Title: Mother's Day
andiesmama - May 13, 2006 12:04 PM (GMT)
So....what are you guys doing for mom's day? Gifts? What did you moms ask for...and what are you guys getting for your dear wives?
A2J...c'mon, you can tell us I promise we won't breathe a word to Sarah.... :shh:
What about your OWN moms....what did you get for them?

My mom is heading to the Dominican Republic EARLY Sunday morning. So I may be dropping her off at the airport with her card. But I'm buying myself another week for the gift... which I'll leave in her kitchen once she gets back. :)
Mrs. Redguard got a little flower in a tiny flowerpot from Rachel. She made it at daycare.
I got her a basket of lotions and perfumes... that fragrance called "Lovely"... the one promoted by Sarah Jessica Parker. Smells really nice.
We're going out for breakfast at our favourite breakfast place Sunday morning. Then DW and my sister are going to get their nails done. And then we're gonna have a picnic at our favourite park.
Long day!

it DOES sound like a long day, but it sounds great!
Ty sent me 2 dozen red roses (12 from him, 12 from Andie), he's taking her shopping this morning for her gift to me. Then tomorrow my MIL and FIL, and SIL & her family are coming here for a light brunch.
Oh, and tonight his parents are watching Andie so we can go out do dinner...
Low-key but nice....

I'm not too thrilled about the plans for this weekend. We're off to Abe's family AGAIN....for the "Easter gathering"...(don't ask) I don't mind visiting them once in a while, but the thing is, we can't really visit with them because we're constantly chasing ISAIAH! They have a farm and Isaiah's constantly in with the animals and whatnot. Oh, and the other Sunday we were there, I found him ON THE ROAD ALONE!!!! So, no. I'm not looking forward to going there AGAIN. Been there 3 Sundays in LESS than one month...:bored: I'd like a change of scenery already! That or just stay home and rest.
Sorry for the sour post, but I'm kinda fed up with a lot of things here.

Well, I turned down a gift because I really wanted to save the money. DH said he had a couple hundred dollars "burning a hole in his pocket" for me, but I asked if we could just bank it. I know he got me something from the kids because it's in his dresser drawer!
I got my mom this really beautiful iris candle holder. My mom and SIL are coming over tomorrow for dinner. We're getting Chinese take out.
OH, I had the most amazing Mother's Day Tea at Sarah's school on Friday. First, I got a beautiful invitation. Then when I got there I was met at the door and handed a program. Sarah walked me to my chair where there was a little Mother's Day greeting sitting on my chair. The kids took turns reading poems about Mom in front of the class. Then the tears started rolling...each child stood up, introduced themselves and their moms and then read from the card they made us - I love mommy because... One of Sarah's reason's was because I was cute! Isn't that funny? OK, then she handed me a coffee mug with a flower planted in it.
After they were done with the cards, they all stood up and sang two songs then invited us to have tea and snack. On the table were small porcelain frames with a picture of our child holding a sign that said "I love Mommy". OH! and we got a silk carnation corsage!
It was awesome.
