Title: Hairstyles

What's the best style to get when you have dead straight, thin hair? I'm looking to volumizing and maybe a wee bit shorter for the summertime. Any good magazine recommendations? Links?

I'm bored with it and for the first time in my life, I wanna do something with it.

Put it in a bun ^_^ You can use all kinds of clips and hair sticks, and also if you let it dry like that, you'll have waves and a ton of volume.

Actually, I was thinking of getting a style at a hair salon or something....:) I've done the bun thing, braids...which right now it's just back in a simple braid. Where's that hair link of yours again?
Does getting it layered bring out some volume? I was thinking I might get some bangs....dunno for sure yet....

I don't remember which hair link it was o.O

Layering can bring out some volume if your hair is secretly wavy (but looks straight because of the weight of being long). However, if it's truly straight, it can make it look thinner unless you curl it every day. Some light layers at the front can be pretty cute though, and then it's just a moment to curl.

I'm still searching for bangs that work on me. I THINK I've finally found a style that works, but I won't really know until my hair gets a bit longer. Grr. Bangs can look so good, but they can also be a pain!
Something I've learned is when you first get bangs, start experimenting with the longer styles before trying the shorter ones, and also make sure they're not heavy bangs or else the length of your hair will be much thinner.

Sideswept bangs are nice  And they're long enough to clip back when the weather gets hot.

Heavy bangs look weird, IMO. I'd prefer wispy bangs. I'm thinking of trying the layering thing. I used to have natural curls when I was a toddler, but they grew out themselves. Maybe layering will bring the curls or waviness back? :dunno:

Isn't your hair very long Lena? The weight of your hair makes it straight. You may just find that if you cut a bunch of it off, and I don't mean an inch or two, that you'll get all that volume and wave you used to have.

I have an excellent stylist. She cuts my hair according to my hair texture and the shape of my face. I wish you could come to see her! It's so rare to find an honest stylest that will tell you what will or won't work. And that's really what you need. Ask around. When you see someone with great hair, ask where they get it cut.

My sister just got her hair layered and it looks real good! She's never had curly hair before and now she's got nice, gentle waves. Niiice. But I'll ask around...I have a few sils I could ask. Yeah, I wish I could meet your hairstylist, too, Lynn! Does she have a webbysite?

Your hair sound similar to mine. I'm in the market for something new, too. My hair is very fine and thin, but it does respond well to layers. Also, highlights are great for adding volume.
