Title: What Port Does Networked Drives Run?

In all my spare time between watchin all my soap operas I got to thinkin bout sumthin, what port do networked drives operate on outside of the network, otherside of router etc? All work I've ever done wit em has always been internal an blocked all outside access to em. Seems to me though.. that they are more in line wit broadcast then anythin else an instead of openin certain ports in a firewall er router you'd need to use one em remote proggies wit a accessed firewall/fowarded port for router etc. Course that would probly be the most secure way, otherwise if you open the thins up to the net, anyone wit the address could access the drives. Hmmm.... any thoughts? One em dozens of remote access would be the best I think, wonder if there's any free ones out there... xp's got that remote deal, but I haven't messed wit it much an I think you havta leave whatever comp you've got it runnin on in a bit of standby deal, haven't fooled wit it any either.
