Title: F F C Challenge For Week #2

andiesmama - April 16, 2006 09:57 PM (GMT)
So....how did you guys do with week #1?? Post your point totals in here, I'll keep track of them in Excel or something....

Here are the challenges for week #2...are you ready??? :eyebrows:

Water Challenge: upping it to 48 ounces/day (approx. 1.5 liters). Points remain the same...5 points per day for each day you meet or exceed the challenge.

Exercise Challenge: wall push-ups. You know....place palms on the wall, do push-ups that way. 3 sets, 25 per set. 5 points per day for each day you meet or exceed the challenge.

Personal Challenge: last week was 30 minutes of family time. This week it's 30 minutes of YOU time!! That means...uninterrupted 30 minutes all to yourself. Just ONE day out of the week. If that means you've gotta leave the kids with dad & drive around for a half hour, so be it. If it means you lock yourself in the bathroom with a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, so be it. 25 points if you accomplish this. Let us know what you end up doing for yourself!

Total points possible for week #2: 95

For the first week I'll give myself 25 points for the water.
Exercise challenge 20 points...didn't quite get them all in...
Personal challenge 25. Easter basket hunts, church and when we got home we tried out the kids' suction guns. That made me work up a sweat!

So, approximately 70 points for me.

Plus, this week I am going to write EVERYTHING down. B) Making my own chart as I type.

LynnMcG - April 17, 2006 12:47 PM (GMT)
Water challenge: 15 points (This is a HUGE challenge for me.)
Exercise challenge: 10 points (I stopped after I read what Doris wrote. My calves are big enough from years of tennis. I don't want them bigger)
Personal challenge: 25 points (We did tons of stuff together this week. It was awesome.)

Total points: 50

SO not looking forward to this week's water challenge.

amyroo - April 18, 2006 10:54 PM (GMT)
Whoops, I forgot to report. I drank water!!! every day!!! 35 points for me!!!!!

LynnMcG - April 19, 2006 12:42 PM (GMT)
Can I just brag...a teenie bit?

I drank 64 oz. of water yesterday! Woohoo! I can't believe I finally did it. As of 8:45 a.m. today, I've already had 32 oz.

I had a bit of a set back yesterday, but I'm not carrying it over today. I had a baby shower at church and ate way too much. And for some reason, we didn't have any beverages so I didn't drink with lunch. When I did drink some water, I felt so gross. So today's trick is going to be to drink at least 8 oz. of water before each meal to help fill me up.

Thanks for all the inspiration ladies. And thank you God for carrying me!

andiesmama - April 19, 2006 12:54 PM (GMT)
Great job Lynn!! I know you struggle with this water thing....keep up the good work!! :bounce: :booyah:

mdolls68 - April 19, 2006 01:18 PM (GMT)
Great job Lynn!!!

-----------------------------

Ladies, I am so proud of you for doing this challenge!! Keep up the great work.

-----------------------------

Debby,

Sorry, I'm probably going to not do too well with the "Exercise" portion of most of the challenge, but I'm fine with it. For me, I'll take the hit. I'm getting the exercise I my body needs and fits my schedule. I'm getting the results I want and don't really need to do additional stuff, and remembering that is too much for me.

Not a big deal for me. I just love participating with all of you and seeing you guys progress and do well makes my heart very happy.

-----------------------------

As for me, the things I used to "struggle" with are no longer a struggle. I have no "temptations" regarding food. My water consumption is regular and good. I no longer feel obsessed about exercise. I love to exercise, but can stop when I plan or need to. If things do not allow me to get my exercise in, I no longer get upset and just work with what I can do.

I think through prayer, persistent EFT God has eliminated most, if not all the emotional static that held me in bondage so long. It's been a long time coming. It's been about 6 weeks (or more) and I'm not stressing out over food, buying it, making it, preparing it. I just do what needs to be done with no resistance or emotions. It's really weird because I'm used to a big fight and now there is no fight.

I measured my bodyfat for kicks last night and I measured 12 mm one time, and 13 mm another time. Averaging that is 12.5 mm, which is 24% bodyfat. On Saturday I was at 24.85%. Haven't weighed myself, but that is 0.85% loss in 3 days. The fat really seems to be just melting off.

Really developing a good aerobic base, increasing my AT (anaerobic threshold) has greatly helped my body to burn fat so much more efficiently. I haven't really worked out that hard in the past 3 weeks and it's still coming off. It's amazing.

-----------------------------

Water Consumption -- I have these 1 liter polycarbonate bottles from www.enviroproductsinc.com that I carry around with me. I bring 3 filled up to work, and then fill them up at least twice at the gym, and fill up 1-2 more at home. I'm sipping water all day long. It makes it easy to consume over a gallon each day. Plus, I don't like the taste of sugars, teas, etc. It takes a little bit to change your taste buds. One of the first things is to change your self-talk language. Stop saying it's hard, or that you do not like it. Keep telling yourself it's easy, whether it is or not. It will make it much easier.

Way to go, girls!

I have not had one single bottle of water today! :o I totally blame hubby! Kidding...since we've been running around alot and don't have time to pee every few minutes. Next week for sure, I'm gonna boost it up again! B)

Honey - April 23, 2006 11:57 PM (GMT)
Ok, I'm gonna confess. I'll give myself a 10. I only drank about 2 bottles of water a day. One day, I only did 1 bottle (2 cups). I didn't do ANY of the exercise challenge. :bored: Then again, last week was hubby's vacation time and that's my excuse for not having done anything. I call it "valid" excuse. B) Besides, I got alot of one on one with him and we're all caught up with each other since we'd barely seen each other for the past 2 1/2 weeks! On the upside, I did go and buy more exercise motivating stuff from Walmart. PLUS an agenda BOOK! I'm really gonna track things down now. This week I'm gonna do ALL of the challenges Deb plans out for us. :eyebrows:

andiesmama - April 24, 2006 01:25 AM (GMT)
Water: 4 days = 20 points
Exercise: 4 days = 20 points
Personal: I actually closed our bedroom door & laid in bed and read a book!! :booyah: so.....25 points

Total for Week #2: 65 points

Not great....for some reason I just couldn't get myself motivated....

amyroo - April 24, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
Ooh, I actually get 25 points! :shakeit: I don't think I drank more than a glass of water a day, but I did get out of the house by myself and actually felt refreshed when I got back!

Honey - April 24, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
 I forgot the half hour to MYSELF! I didn't even MAKE time for that! Well, I still need a bath, maybe I'll go and take a soak right now....:bath:

andiesmama - April 24, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
:bounce: Amy, that's AWESOME you were able to find a half hour all to yourself this week....I'm happy for you!!

amyroo - April 24, 2006 02:36 AM (GMT)
Thanks! :)

Honey - April 24, 2006 01:08 PM (GMT)
For week 2 I lost 1/2 an inch everywhere! :bounce: I measured this morning and I guess all that walking I did - or rather that Abe MADE me do - paid off!

Waist: 27 1/2"
Hips: 36 1/2"
Right Thigh: 22"
Left Thigh: 22"

I'm feeling good today! :booyah:

LynnMcG - April 24, 2006 01:18 PM (GMT)
Ok, week two totals...

I totally forgot about the push ups. I think I did one set, so that doesn't count.

25 points for water.
25 for alone time. I spend at least 30 minutes alone every morning in the Word or reading one of my bible study books so this was easy for me. I wish all of you did that. Just get up before the kids get up. It's SO worth it. If you prefer evenings, get the kids to bed early! (I'm a huge believer in early bedtimes for lots of Mommy&Daddy time, hee hee). I think that time is crutial for my spiritual and mental well-being.

So my total is 50 points.

mdolls68 - April 24, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)
Wk 2:

Water = 7 x 5 = 35 points
Personal Time = 25 points
-----------
60 points

Did not do any wall pushups, but I did a bunch of other pushups....Oh well.

Weight: 189 lbs (maintained)
% Bodyfat = 23.8% (down 1.1%)
I gained +2 lbs LBM and lost -2 lbs bodyfat.
