Anyone know what the chances are of ESD (Electro Static Discharge) within the confines of a plexiglass box? I realize it won't block er protect, but I'm curious bout chance of it causin the discharge. What do you think? Clay? You might know this a bit better then anyone else off hand.

I have received static shocks from plexiglas in dry conditions. I wouldn't use it to protect against ESD in computers.
All plastic can hold static electricity. Look at nylon combs. Glass will not (silicon is a semiconductor - will only conduct electricity under certain conditions, otherwise it is an insulator).
And, yes, I've fried more than my fair share of chips...

Yep welp, its sumthin I was worried bout, haven't actually ever used plexiglass to build anythin solid state but knew bout nylon/plastics was curious bout plexiglass for a prodject I'm workin on.

I considered once, a long time ago, building a computer case with neon tubes wired to the keyboard and mouse interrupts and the HDD LED for action. I thought it would be cool to have all these flashing lights.
Once I worked in a mainframe room on the night shift. I was the only one there, and on Friday and Satruday nights I'd go in smashed. I'd kick off the programs I needed to run and shut off the lights. Watching all those blinkin' lights was really cool - especially when I was drunk off my @$$. Zone out and crank up the radio - voila! You're at a concert!
