Title: Cheese Making 101
clayman - December 2, 2005 08:47 PM (GMT)
Have any of you out there ever made cheese? Because I can be a lousy housekeeper, my kids do it all the time!
Yeah, my 6yo reverted to sippy-cups when the baby came. So, I have to make milk every morning in sippy-cups for both. Well, occasionally I'll find one behind the couch or under the bed. They always have CHEESE in them!
Now, I haven't yet worked up the nerve to try this cheese, and it usually goes down the garbage disposal.
Have any of you experienced this?

That's why I love disposable sippy cups...
Actually, we only use disposable cups for juice. In our house each child has one chocolate milk cup. If I don't have it in the cabinet, you don't get chocolate milk in the morning. And believe me, these kids need chocolate milk more than I need my a.m. java. So they learn pretty quick not to leave the cup under the sofa.

I have found a stray cup or two that once had milk in them but now cheese. No way would I try it - the smell is bad enough!

I just throw them away when I find them....bleah!!

One day I was driving down the highway in my Civic & I smelled something funky. I couldn't figure out where this funk was coming from. I looked for DAYS...couldn't find it. Then - one day I came to a sudden stop due to an idiot ...I mean...nice person in front of me - a sippy cup came rolling out from under the passenger seat........yeah - that got tossed out the window going down I94 at about 80MPH! NASTY STUFF!

My gut hurts from laughing at that one!
When I found them, I did dump it out real quick, washed it with scalding hot water and bleached it, then threw it out. No way I was putting up with that stink in the house at all.

Eww eww eww...
I babysat my little cousin all summer, and one of his bottles got lost in my apartment. When I found it, I just bought him a new one.

So, am I the only cheapskate that actually cleans and SAVES the bottles?

Thank the Lord that I didn't have to mess with bottles cos I think I never would have been able to keep up with them!

I generally do stuff like that, but he is my cousin, not my child, so I don't worry too much :)
Also the bottle I threw away was the pink one that his father hated; I bought a blue one and was the hero of the day.

.
.
I was visiting my best friend and his wife was pregnant (with her 11th btw) and she was cleaning one of her boys room (they have 6 boys) and she found a McDonalds hamburger that had fallen between the bed and wall...lol.
It was probably there for at least several months...
Being prego, she couldn't even tolerate the site of it...
Being the good bro that I am...I promptly came to the rescue and took care of it for her...
Funny thing...the boys bathroom in that house looks and smells like a mens room at gas station...Imagine 6 boys between 4 and 13....BRUTAL. If I take a leak in there, my shoes stick to the floor...lol.

My kids refuse to dump out their ceral bowls....
There are several days at a time I don't even see the kitchen let alone notice the pile of dishes grow larger instead of the kids doing thier chores...
I routinely have to dump cheese out of the bowls...
I think next time I'll set the cheese on their pillows, that should get the point across...

No cheesemaking here.
I'm pretty vigilant with collecting my daughter's sippy cup after she's had her evening milk.
I think I'm some kind of germophobe.

UHHH, Yeah.
Matt is at that point now, He tries to sit down normally, Facing front, and He shoots across the top of the seat and then when he sees what he did, Giggles even more and sprays more. :D
This never fails to elicit howls of laughter from him. :rolf:
I went in to check on him one nite and I ended up having to change my pants cause he drenched them. :nono:

I toss em. No way I am gonna dump the mess out in the sink and then have to deal with cleaning out a clogged drain pipe.

I'm thinking about keeping one aside - after the kids grow up some more - and see exactly what happens. It's become rather fascinating to me lately.

I had that same experience! I thought that maybe something had crawled into the engine and died! Then after a few days I got fed up with it and started searching the car and found a sippy cup lodged under the seat. It had leaked and the "cheese" was soaked into the carpet under the driver seat. I bnever was able to clean it out completely, but I got the smell out.

It's bad enough finding contained cheese in the car. But having it leak out... :puke:
