Title: F F C Challenge For Week #1
andiesmama - April 7, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
I'll try to have these posted by the Saturday or Sunday before the challenge, so you guys can have an idea what's on tap for the next week!
The challenges start on a Monday & go from Monday thru Sunday. I'll list 3 or 4 "challenges" for you to attempt throughout the week & their corresponding points. Some will be an "all or nothing" challenge (that is, if you do it, you get the points...if you don't, you don't get any), some will be points on a daily basis.
Post your total points on each weekly challenge thread for that week and I'll keep a running total to see who's the "big winner" at the end of this fitness challenge.
Each week there will be a water-drinking challenge AND some type of exercise challenge. I'll throw in a couple "fun" challenges so it's not all work! B)
So....here's week #1:
Water Challenge: EVERY DAY drink at least 32 oz of water (approx. 950 ml). That means WATER (can be flavored with lemon or lime OR crystal light; canNOT be diet soda, tea, etc). 5 points per day if you meet or exceed this challenge.
Exercise Challenge: Every time you go into the bathroom (or at least 3 times per day), do 25 heel raises. You know, hold onto the counter or wall & push up on your toes, clenching your calf AND butt muscles. IF you do this at least 3 times in one day, you get 5 points per day.
Fun Challenge: Have at least a half hour of family time...uninterrupted by tv, etc...quality, RECONNECTING family time. Share what you did, if you want to. If you meet this challenge, you get 25 points.
So...total potential points for this week: 95 points.

So we do these challenges on top of the workout, right?

you got it, sister! So....if your workout has heel lifts normally, you STILL need to do the extras that are in the challenge in order to get the points....
I'm such a slave driver... :whip:

Just a reminder....make a note of the challenges so you can keep them in mind this week!
I already forgot to do my heel lifts when I went to the bathroom this morning... ...but as long as you get in 3 sets a day, you STILL get the points! :yippie:

I think with the water challenge...because it is a challenge for me...going to the bathroom more than 3 times is not going to be a problem!

I know it....but eventually your body will get used to it & you won't be going so much....speaking of which.... :bike:

OK, I'm almost done with my water. I did my 3 sets of 25 butt-clenching, toe raises, and we just got back from an hour at the park. Cha-ching! Off to a good start!

I have ONE more set of heel lifts to do! I've done pretty good with that. It hurts at first, but I'll get used to it.

**CLARIFICATION**
After nosing around, I want to clarify that the 30 minutes of family time is NOT each day....it's just once this week...BUT that includes everybody....all the kids, mommy AND daddy....
I'll probably have to wait until this weekend to get some time in for the 3 of us...
mdolls68 - April 11, 2006 11:18 AM (GMT)
Okay, I more than met the water challenge, even if water was a little light for me. I had 3 liters, which is 90+ oz of water, or a little over 3/4 of a gal.
I had my 30 min. of family time. That one is easy as we get that most days, if not more. Yes, I know it's for the week.
I did not do any calf raises. That one will be iffy for me. My calves are already big enough and that is an exercise I do so seldom because it's incorporated in other ways into my workouts like through lunges, or certain squats or something else Josh has me doing. So, no points for me here. Not sure if I will get a lot of points here, but that's okay.
My period is super, super heavy. It's giving me a headache and I feel gross physically. Today I have a personal training session with Josh and I have to work extra long this week to make up for being gone for Friday's funeral.
Please pray for me. I worked from home yesterday and do not want to go in today, but need to.
Thanks,
Doris

Doris, it's like I ASPIRE to be as good at working out as you are!
That's why I'm going to incorporate some kind of little workout into each week's challenge...that way, if we skip a day of working out but still do the workout "challenge"....well, at least that's SOMEthing....
Praying for you...God will give you the enegery and desire and determination you need to make it to and THROUGH your workout today!

Ah, I see. Well, then for just the 5 of us to have good, quality family time...won't happen til the weekend. Good news, tho...hubby's all done with Easter rush! Last night he got home at 9:30! :bounce:

:bored: Man, day one and I already blew the points for the exercise part of the challenge....
AND I've forgotten all day so far today....bleah, that part of the weekly challenge is going to be a hard one for me....
Maybe I need to set an alarm or something so I remember....:dunno:

:whip: Yeah, Deb...set an alarm. No slackin'! :P
I haven't done any today yet, but then again I didn't do any yesterday morning, either. I remember better in the afternoon for some odd reason.
