Our church has an "Encouragement Card" program. The idea is, write a card to someone who needs encouragement and the church will put it in an envelope and send it to them. It's really a neat way to get a quick note to someone in your own handwriting. The church makes it really easy.
Anyway, apparently some folk don't really know how to be encouraging. Preacher got up on Sunday to go over the prayer list and said:

| We got a call from someone, and I have to tell y'all about this. Sometimes when you write something it doesn't sound as encouraging as if you'd said it face-to-face. If you send a card to someone, don't say, "Bronchitis. That's rough. My mom died from bronchitis." |
The entire church busted up laughing. I looked for someone not laughing...
Holy cow...that's funny.
I'm in the ministry in our church. I hope I haven't done anything like that!!
