Title: Trimming Eyelashes
Honey - March 30, 2006 06:33 PM (GMT)
Anyone do this? I was putting on mascara this morning and my lashes (not to brag, or anything...:P ) are just too long! It's like flop, flop when I blink. I only use one layer of mascara, too. Are there any special scissors or something just to trim them down a touch?
I have an eyelash curler and that just makes them feel even longer....

never heard of that....trimming them, I mean...maybe our resident beauty consultant LYNN could answer that question...
ME? I'd be too chicken, I mean what if you cut 'em too short??

Yeah, I don't think trimming is very common. Most girls LIKE long lashes and will do anything to get them.
Just call me weird, but mine bother me. If I cut them too short, I'm sure they'd grow back...

OK, are you out of your mind?!!
Honestly, that's the first thing I thought when I read the title for this thread. Lena! Don't trim your lashes! What if you mess up? What if they look all funky?
Oh and hey, did I tell you Avon has a new red colored mascara? It's a curling mascara. I think it'll be introduced in the next campaign. You can go to: www.youravon.com/lmcginnis and click on Campaign 8 to see it.
OH! This is not a sales plug. I don't think I'm allowed to ship to you. So you'd have to find it locally. But I thought of you when I saw it because I know you wanted a lighter color than you could find.

Darn, guess I'll just have to put up with these. I don't wanna mess them up, either....that would look worse than keeping them long.
RED mascara?? What?! I've never seen red mascara before... I have slightly reddish natural highlights in my hair, so maybe it wouldn't look too bad on me....Don't know what the hub would think, tho. :D Abe has access to several Avon ladies at work. That's where he pretty much "shops" for me. Not makeup, of course...just the Precious Moments stuff.
PS: Wasn't it someone else who wanted a light-coloured mascara? I have no problem with dark brown which is my current colour...or even black...wasn't that String?
LynnMcG - March 31, 2006 03:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I know String wanted it too. But I could swear you wanted a lighter color too. Sorry sister.

yeah, do what I do. don't curl them and DONT put mascara on.... makes them feel shorter if you dont do either of these things
trim them... that would be very bad indeed. imagine if you cut them sideways :nono:

So cool you're blessed with long lashes Lena. I wasn't blessed in that manner, but I can appreciate those who do have. I'm thinking I don't want sharp objects near my eyes, as my hand isn't the steadiest. I could poke you eye out.
I have no idea how you would go about trimming lashes.
I could design something like an eyelash curler that lops off your lashes, I suppose. Like a little blade, like that of a papercutter?

Doris, that sounds like an awesome invention! I don't have long eyelashes, either, but I bet alot of women would use it....Lena could test it out for you!!

Ok, uh....WOW. That sounds a little rough. Eh, I love my lashes now? :shakeit:

Doris, you are brilliant. I'm sure if you could make it, someone would buy it.
I still think you guys are crazy though. I have NEVER heard of a woman wanting SHORTER lashes. Mine also brush up against my glasses sometimes, but heck, how can you complain?
