Abortion is bad.
The only time it makes sense to me is when its.... either abortion or both mom and baby die. I'll choose one life going to heaven over two, especially if the mom has other kids that need her.
Other than that.... its a baby.

What do you think will happen? I know what we would LIKE to happen - but do you think Roe V. Wade will be overturned? I mean, it's gunna be a nasty battle.
Thoughts?

Frankly, this law terrifies me:
| QUOTE |
| Proposed amendments to the law to create exceptions to specifically protect the health of the mother, or in cases of rape or incest, were voted down. Also defeated was an amendment to put the proposal in the hands of voters. |
But I don't want to get into a debate...

Wit the new justices I hope it will be over turned BUT......... the same thin will probly happen like partial birth abortion... some lesser dumbass court filed against it wit in two hours of the pres signin it.... there'd be riots an stuff like that it's a battle we should fight an I think we should..... regardless of the costs.... I guess I should change that to jes bout any cost, I'm not sure I'd stick my wife an kids on the line etc, ya know what I mean. You can bet though, Christians would come under major attacks, tell folks to up thier insurance policies hehe
I do think it's an up hill battle but wit the new justices I think it will pass on a very slim margin.

This is what I am worried about. The immoral direction that things are heading and the intolerance growing toward Christians and our morals and beliefs is astonishing. The aborthion thing may be overturned for a few minutes, but the backlash by the radicals will end it soon enough. They always cry "what about rape or incest?" I guarantee you that if it passes that only rape or incest victims can get abortions the number of "rapes" per year will skyrocket and then we will have a whole new problem to deal with. Personally, i believe that even in cases of rape and incest--God still breathes life into that baby, and that the child is not part of the mother's body--as it has a unique set of DNA that is not identicle to the mother's at all. In order for it to be part of her body it would have to share her exact DNA---And for a rape or incest vcictim to have to go through the rape and incest is enough, much less adding the guilt of kiling a baby--The women who have abortions will inevitably at some point in their lives suffer froj their actions. I read that many times a woman who has had an abortion will start crying when she hears the dentist turn on his drill--and she doesn't know why. Some realise , but others don't, that the sound of the drill is similar to the sound of the equipment that the abortionists use..
If the thing passes I am afraid that it will greatly increase the anti-Christian mentality in this country. As in many other situations we will become the bad-guys. Eventually, they will want to snuff out the "bad guys"......I know--you probably think I am fatalistic, but.........can you balme me?

I agree..... I don't see how the rights of the mother are more important than the rights of the child. I also don't see why the baby can't bring healing rather than pain.

I agree. And our God is an awesome God who can take sin and make something beautiful out of it. Just look at all the kids of the memebrs of FHL. I know that my DD was the result of sin, so was your son, so was String's daughter and Clay's daughter, the list goes on. So I don't feel that incest or rape should be exceptions. Yes, these kids were created in sin but God can take it and do something with it and these kids are just as much a blessing as any other child out there and as such have a right to that God given life.

I have a feeling both this law and the partial birth abortion ban will be overturned on some small issue or technicality. Such things always seem to crop up in cases we would MUCH rather have decided on their greater moral issue.

It's going to be interesting to watch what happens - scary - but interesting.

All states should jump on board.
This is astonishing. The South Dakota law concludes that life begins at conception based on medical advances over the past three decades ummhmm. so why don't all states see this???
The biggest challenge is not overturning roe v wade, but recognizing unborn as citizens protected under our constitution. It would be much easier to conform laws to special circumstances if the law would just recognize the unborn as living beings!

Yup, that's so true really, I mean if the law would recongnize unborn as human beins then the law already protects em from murder. I bet it's jes that simple to isn't it? The way the law would read etc, since they are alive an they are children then they are protected from harm of any kind. It's stupid to me that a prego woman can git beat up by anyone er wrecked by a drunk driver etc an they'll charge em wit the murder of the unborn child... yet they do it willinly everday an it's no biggy. The bible talks bout this.. havta look up where it is agin, but in the last days where craziness will seem right to those an right will seem like craziness. Scary.. but at the same time, we're to look up for our redemtion draws nigh.

It wasn't until recently though Debby. The federal government only made it a federal offense just a few years ago! And even so, there are still many, many loopholes in the law. I think that the Peterson case raised many eyebrows though!
The law is progressive at least, however slow it may be! We as women, did much harm with the liberal movement. Now we are trying to crawfish out of it! But that is enough to keep pressing on. If it weren't for those who have a heart for the unborn, then we would not be progressing.
