Title: Forum Stress!
Mandy - February 11, 2006 11:03 PM (GMT)
What do you do when people online really annoy you?
I take deep breaths, pace around a bit, or if it gets really bad... I make funny faces at the computer screen :tease:
And then I turn off said computer screen, because an argument about a hypothetical situation with someone I've never met and never care to, just isn't worth getting stressed over B)

Forum Stress? What's forum stress? There can't be such a thing as THAT, is there? :D
Me? What do I do? hehehe :lena: I either ignore it or bite back. But that's just me....:P

I usually write a big huge post about why they are wrong and then delete it. It helps a little...I get away from the computer and fume a while..

So Mandy, who's the culprit?
andiesmama - February 12, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
depends on my mood...either I'll snap back or just stay away....or just insert a *rolls eyes smilie* as the mood strikes.... B)

I know for me, I always felt like I had to make my feelings known. Especially if someone was being really ridiculous. But not so much anymore. I figure if I'm accountable for every idle word (and forum entry) what would God think of what I was going to say anyway? And does it really matter to that person? Will it really make a difference? Probably not.

That's kinda me....why expend the energy? No matter how much you talk (type), you're not gonna change someone's mind about something....I usually state my position, then take a step back if things start getting too crazy....haven't in the past, but that's what I'm trying to do now... B)

Wanna know what Abe says when I get frustrated? "It's only the internet. Don't get so worked up over it. It can be unplugged as easy as it was plugged in....Don't let it get to you."
Stringaling - February 13, 2006 02:51 PM (GMT)
I think the most frustrating part is knowing that there someone out ther swaying people's beliefs and propigating such nonsense to the ignorant and passing it on to their children. It really is frustrating...

do wut Jacks and I do - get very sarcastic in our posts & point out every flaw the other poster has. Then I tend to give the computer screen "the bird".

My DH usually says "why are you letting those internet freaks get you so upset? You don't even know these people."
 Wonder if you guys qualify as "those internet freaks"?
:rolf: Of course you do!!

Hey - I resemble that remark! :haha:
The only internet freak the upset me was a customer for whom I developed a web page. I built the page for free, all he had to do was pay for hosting. Then he wouldn't do that, and he told me I was ripping him off!
Ah, well.
Honey - February 13, 2006 07:24 PM (GMT)
LOL, yeah, internet freaks! I've heard that from hubby, too. :)

Yeah, that's one reason I answer posts at all when I know it's not going to convince the person. Better to answer than leave the post unchallenged, and chance having someone think that's what all Christians believe...
But there's a quitting point B)
