Title: Sick & Slightly Ticked
Honey - February 9, 2006 02:14 PM (GMT)
I've got this awful cold that started up yesterday and Isaiah does, too. So I took yesterday off for the both of us so we could recover a bit at home. I didn't do a whole lot of housework because I had no energy and Isaiah was keeping me plenty busy and I had to deal with him.
Well, after the kids were in bed and I was in the tub, the phone rang and it was Abe's brother. So he yakking to him for about a half hour, then when he hangs up the phone he announces that his brother is coming over tonight around 6.
Now, since I got NADA done yesterday, as in I have piles of laundry to do and my counter's full of dishes to be washed and I'm expected to go grocery shopping today, regardless how crappy I feel...I am in NO mood to be entertaining NObody tonight! PLUS, it's a school night!
Guys, would you do this to your wife and kids? We've got loads of bad germies right now Luke was starting to complain this morning.
I'm just not feeling well at all and not myself today. WHY does he hafta DO this?! :nono: :wall:
I'm very tempted to call up mil and tell her to tell bil to forget it. Abe should've explained things to him and he really has to learn to say NO sometimes to his family! Heck, my family knows very well when I've had it rough because I TELL them so!
Ok, rant over...I'm gonna go soak my head and get back to bed.

Can you just have Abe tell BIL that he'll just have to take a raincheck? Your BIL might not even KNOW there are nasty germies floating around your house....if he did, he probably wouldn't want to come over anyways!
If it was me, I wouldn't take it upon myself to call & cancel the plans, I'd tell....I mean "ask" hubby to do it....

I DID tell him. Soon as he got off the phone. He refused to do it. :kick:

Put it this way: "Your birthday was yesterday, pal. If they wanted to come over, they should've done it then. They can come over today, but they're going to get sick and call in to work and people are going to get fired and yo momma just might get sick and that wouldn't be right and we can't afford for her to go to the doc and..."
Or, say, "Abe, honey, would you please call them and let them know that we're sick over here?"

Clay, his family could care less how sick they are...they still go to work! Only time hubby admits he's sick is when he's throwing up at work and they send him home! Heck, when I took yesterday off, he didn't like it because it takes away a days wages. Me, I care more about health than money. I'm still thinking of calling mil and telling her to give bil message not to come...he still lives at home. But Abe would be very ticked at ME then! :bored: I dunno. And the fact that he chose to come at 6...pretty much hinting for me to cook supper for him....
Brainstorm....I'll make Abe do supper. Make him order pizza or whatever...hmmm

My dad did this to my mom a LONG time ago...like I'm thinking at least 30 years ago. This was back when cell phones first came out and they were huge. I remember him calling to say he was bringing a customer over for dinner and when my mother asked where he was, he was a block away. She was furious. I think just to spite him, she served them whatever kid food she was making for the five of us...hot dogs maybe? Pretty funny. Oh, and it never happened again.

Update: Isaiah's home. School called and he has a mild fever and cough. This just gets better and better! I think tomorrow I may as well keep Luke home, too. That way all the kids are home for ANOTHER long weekend. I am really hoping next week will be much better. This week has been nothing but crazy. :bored:
I'm glad I didn't sign up for first aid tomorrow...that would've been a nightmare. I'll do that the 28th.

After tonight, this won't happen again, either! :box:

LOL @ Squat! Yeh, it went ok. He was an hour later than planned, so that was fine by me. Since my ears were totally plugged, I didn't hear much. Soon it was bedtime, so I got the kids ready for bed then I went and took a hot :bath: Still couldn't hear what they were mumbling, grumbling about so I went to bed. I'm calm now....just practically DEAF today. :bored:
