Title: County Fair

Well, our county fair is in town for the week...Andie went yesterday with Ty's parents, and we're planning on taking her tomorrow night.

She had so much fun, his mom said she rode ALL the kiddie rides by herself, plus a real pony (which she LOVED), they have a petting zoo...all the usual stuff.

We took her last year and she had a blast, too...we ate junk food, we paid about $10 for her to play some games to win cheap little prizes (which she thought was found treasure! ), rode the ferris wheel, she rode the merry-go-round about 3 times with her daddy (preferred him over me for that one :dunno: ) But it was just a really fun family night....I'm excited about going again! :bounce:

Do you guys go to the fair when it comes to town?

Nope, way too expensive. I'd rather go to a big amusement park...it's at least worth it.

Ours is called the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. We have musical acts like Aerosmith and George Strait. It's in Reliant Stadium. It's too big. It costs like $30 just to get in the gate.

When I was in Corpus, we would go to the Nueces County Livestock Show and Rodeo. I never really got into rodeo that much.

Funny - the Janquis have their county fair in the fall - around harvest time. Down south, we have ours in the late winter or spring - when it's cool enough to do stuff outside!

Maybe this year we'll get to the big livestock show they have down here. They have a fair too and I think Kat would really enjoy it. I would prefer to go with Louis as well though so I'll just have to see if I can convince him this year...

Wow....it's not that expensive....kids under 6 are free, and I bought a ticket for $18 for either me or Ty that covers our admission AND unlimited rides....but then again, they don't have big concerts there either....

My sister went to the town fair a couple years ago and cost them nearly 100 bucks for a few puny rides! And all they have is a midway and a few games.

Well, actually it's Rodeo Weekend that has the rides in our county...the fair only has the exhibits.
Anyway, Chad hates the carnival. The closest I've gotten in the past three years is babysitting for my cousin so she could go with her boyfriend.

Yes the FAIR ROCKS.

And what is very cool is that my mom lives here in Flagstaff, so SHE pays for the County Fair.

Wifey's folks live in Phoenix and they pay for the State Fair...

Gotta love grandparents....

We go--the kids love it. I get a little irritable with all the crowds and the children mamkng thier natural demands, but we have a better plan for next year. We'll take the kids in the morning and do kid stuff, then leave, get our hands stamped and come back in the afternoon to do non-kid stuff...should work out better that way. Admission is pretty cheap. If you buy tickets in advance its only $5 per person--of course rides are separate, but we usually don't do rides--there are sooooo many other things set up to see and do...must not forget to see the butter sculpture!

Our county fair is actually the NJ State Fair. It's great, it's a real country fair. We go every year, at least once. This was the first time since Sarah was born I think, that I got to ride on the rides. My mom came with us and watched the kids so we could be kids!

Every year I say I'm going to enter a quilt in the Home Economics part of the fair, but I never do. I really need to do that. I have a few things I could enter...gotta get my little fingers moving!
