Title: Men And Skin Care
Mandy - February 2, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
This is something I've been wondering for awhile...
It seems that men in the U.S. don't think they need to take care of their skin. I've seen ONE American brand of men's skin care products, and I don't know anyone who uses them. However, at my university there are guys from many different countries, and they all think it would be very weird for a guy NOT to use skin care products.
Any thoughts? Do men think they're immune to wrinkles and skin problems, or are women overly concerned about said wrinkles and skin problems?

I'm not sure what you mean by "skin care". I mean, I use lotion on my face after I shave...but....other than that........ :dunno:

Hubby doesn't do any particular skin care, either. Maybe it takes away their "manliness"? :dunno:

No...we just don't need any beauty-drugs or foo-foo products to make us feel better about ourseves.
Can you say...GRIZZLED.
Give Abe-bro a thumbs up...

Ty's idea of skin care is to scrub his face with the same soap we've got for your body in the shower....
I've got some great facial cleansers & suggest them every now & then, but he's not interested....:dunno:

Abe won't even use any soap on his face. Shaving gel is about it. Yet he'll scrub his ears with the shampoo while he's washing his hair.

Tom uses a cleanser. In the winter he'll use a moisturizer when his face is dry. And that's all the info I'm offering on his skin care. All I can say is that he definately takes better care of his face than you guys do.

Again...I just use regular soap on my mug.
Can't risk the use of any men's beauty stuff...beatin' the ladies off with a stick as it is....

i think its a little of both. Honestly women are too vain. We want to stay youthful looking and try our hardest and spend outrageous amounts (like billions of dollars a year) to try to keep our youth. We have a hard time accepting the natural process if aging and I think it is a problem for women. Men are gaining ground in this area too. I saw a report on TV a few weeks ago that detailed the increase in men going to spas and getting plastic surgery on their faces. Until recently it has been generally accepted for men to age normally because it made them look "distinguished" or whatever..

I think every single wrinkle in my hubby's face makes him even sexier. :eyebrows:

With rosacea (remember my pic? :haha: ), I was prescribed stuff called Metrogel. It felt like I was putting battery acid on my face. I use Neutrogena Men Razor Defense lotion all over my face. It keeps the rosacea at bay so I don't break out as often or as bad.
But my wife has to badger me to use it...
