Whats the dumbest thin you've ever bought someone? For birthdays er whatever.

I bought my wife an X-box for christmas one year, I really thought it was a cool gift and she would use it, I asked her about it before hand and she said it was a good idea and we could play games together, but she never plays it, and I found out she resents the gift...
I only bought it because some lady at the company x-mas party won it, and didn't want it and was willing to sell it to me for $100 which was less than half price, so it was hard to turn down, so I asked Heather, and she said yeah..
But now I feel guilty about it.

Not sure...
BUT I can tell you the dumbest thing I've ever received! My husband will agree...
We were living in Southern California and my DH bought me a leather jacket for my 30th birthday. I cried like a baby I was so upset. First, I had like 4 leather jackets in the closet. Then, we're living in Southern California - where you just don't need leather jackets. And, I didn't want one! HE WANTED ONE. He kept bringing me to this leather store showing me jackets and I thought it was for him, but it was for me!
Finally, I had begged him for a particular necklace I wanted. Showed him what it looked like, told him where to go. And still - I got a leather jacket.

I bought my father-in-law a mesh, g-string from Fredricks for Christmas.
It was just a joke to see how everyone would react when he opened it...
It was marked "From Santa"

I am not sure about one that I've bought, but the worst thing I ever received was from my SIL for my last birthday. She had gone to a huge children's and maternity clothes consignment sale--happens twice a year here and takes up almost the whole Exp center... anyway, I was pregnant with Isaac and she gave me consignment maternity clothes for my birthday--Didn't even fit! I was so offended and annoyed.........

OH! That reminded me of my bridal shower.
I got a piece of lingerie from my husband's friend's wife. It was HUGE, HUGE! When I held it up, she was clearly embarassed at how large it was (I was just a teenie bit offended of course). But that's not the worst.
When I went to JC Penney to return it the next weekend, the clerk asked me to find something similar because it didn't have tags and she didnt' know how much it was. Well, I found it, the same one, on the clearance rack, marked down 3 or 4 times - $2.99.
BTW, I gave her a comforter set for her bridal shower the year before.

This was one of the best presents I ever got cos it was so thoughtful! I had been saying for a year that I was missing my Engish football and missed playing it so I thought it was a really thoughtful gift!

For two Christmases in a row, I bought Chad books.
The first was a military parody (Catch 22), so I thought he'd really like it.
The second was one of Bill O'Reilly's books that he'd really wanted to buy, but hadn't got around to it, so I thought he'd like that.
He hasn't read either one of them. It finally got through my head that while he does have some favorite books (really good books too), there aren't very many of them because he doesn't like to read.
I can't pick a worst present that he gave me, because every birthday and Christmas, except this past year, he just bought something we were going to get anyway and called it my present.
