Title: Disney?
Description: Looking for recomendations

OK, so my DH has decided we're spending Christmas in Disney this year. I just did the prelim price comparisons and was blown away at how much it's going to cost (anywhere from $3,500-$8,500) for the four of us and my mom.

The thing is, it's our first trip and we don't know where to go or what to do. We're going to have to split our trip. We're thinking of spending 4 days in Disney and 3 days in the Miami area with my brother's family. (Sorry Debby! We can't get to the left coast to see you this time.)

So we're looking for suggestions from anyone who's been there. Where did you stay? What did you love/hate? What would you suggest?

Thanks guys!

So those commercials that say a family of 4 can go to Disney for 6 night 7 days for $1500 aren't right?

My girlfriend has a daughter who's going to be 4 in March, they go all the time....if you have time, besides going to the Magic Kingdom, you should really check out MGM Studios....they've got a Playhouse Disney show there that she says is just awesome...Bear in the Big Blue House is part of it, Stanley, Rolie Polie Olie....

Also if your kids are into Princesses or any of the characters, she says it is SO worth the money to attend one of the character breakfasts....last time they went, her daughter got to sit by Cinderella & eat...she thought her head would explode!!

One night you should plan on staying late at the Magic Kingdom to see their fireworks display, it's so great! And I think they've got a Christmas parade of lights at night as well....

If you can get your mom to watch the kids one night, you & hubby should go to Downtown Disney...ALOT of shops, restaurants (Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe are two I remember)...they also have a Cirque de Soliel there, but I think those tickets are kind of expensive.

In Miami, you should try to hit the Miami Zoo....it's so awesome, and if you do I might be able to swing it to where we can meet you guys there!! ;)

Epcott is really cool; it's the culture/sciencey part of Disney World...though when it's between that and the Magic Kingdom for kids, I think Epcott might lose.

Yeah, well, that's where Tom got the idea from in the first place. When we priced a land/see Disney vacation two Christmas' ago, it was about $2,400 I think, including airfare. The prices I got today are absurd.

And thank you for the great suggestions.

I forgot, that my girlfriend who lives in Orlando was telling me she gets passes all the time, really cheap. I need to call her and find out what we can do to get some of them!

I'm thinking we'll fly JetBlue, because it's like $79 each way. Then we'll have to stay just outside of the Kingdom. I'd love to do it all, but I think it would be silly to go into debt for vacation. It's going to be fun anyway.
