Title: Decorating
Description: NOT for the holidays!!

Hubbies...do you CARE how your wife decorates the house? Is there one room that's "yours" to basically do with as you please? Do you give suggestions or maybe actually help shop?

Wives....do you ask for your DH input when you decorate your home? Do you keep his likes/dislikes in mind, or just expect him to like whatever it is you do? Do you have a "girlie" room, or keep most rooms neutral?

Our entire apartment is very gender neutral. Our living room has chocolate brown leather furniture and then burgandy and tan accent colors in the decorations.

Our bedroom is also very neutral. We have a tan microsuede comforter and darker brown throw pillows. And then we have an abstract painting with browns, reds, sage, and mustard colors in it above our bed.

One bathroom is decorated with blue and the other in sage.

I try to take into consideration DH's likes when I decorate, luckily I'm not really girly with my style so he's pretty much happy with what I like.

We talk all the time about when we will have a house to decorate. When that happens I'm going to have to fight to have any input at all....
So maybe I'll get MY one room to decorate!

I could careless!! Well, within reason. I mean - don't make the house look like only a woman lives there. My wife will usually ask me about pain colors & stuff...and I end up painting. :(

My husband really doesn't care. He leaves all of the decorating decisions up to me. Granted, if I totally redid the house in pink flowers, he'd probably make me sleep in the backyard with the dog, but overall, he really doesn't care at all.

I put flowerish borders up when we renovated our house 8 years ago. We both like to stick to more neutral looks. This coming spring I am totally repainting. Our walls look pathetic! And now that the kids are out of the drawing on the wall stage...we're ready to repaint and not have it look like a warzone.

I do all the decorating and my husband is always very pleased with it. He doubted my choice for living room paint but afterwards remarked what a genius I am. B)

all right....all of you decorating geniuses....who wants to come to my house & HELP me?? B)

We compromise on paint colors and such. We always shop together for hanging thngs. He has his ideas and i have to coax him back toward the center of acceptability and appropriateness. he likes things that would be better suited for a bigger house, and our 1098 sq. feet just can't handle it.

So long as I don't make anything pink, my husband is fine with me. Even when he painted our one and only bathroom lavender. Now, how do I feel about all of the NY Giants junk in the living room?!! Not happy, but then we live in a little bitty home. One day, he'll get the football room, but for now, I cope.

After my sister and I moved out my mom gave my step father one of the bathrooms to decorate in his favorite football team stuff.. i am surprised they make team themed shower curtains and even tiles!

Oh, come on.. Let her paint the walls. You'd be surprised how comfy a little color can make a room....

See, I would not mind doing that...if we had more than one bathroom!

It would make my mom nuts though. She cannot understand why my brother let his wife decorate their upstairs bathroom in Disney. It's hysterical how much it bugs her.
