Title: Superbowl
andiesmama - January 30, 2006 02:04 PM (GMT)
Who's watching it? Who REFUSES to? B) Anyone going to or giving a party? And what's on the menu....
Redguard - January 30, 2006 02:08 PM (GMT)
My best friend eats, drinks, and breates football. I'm not that big of a fan. But I'll be going to his Superbowl party anyway and I'll cheer for Seattle.
I don't know what's on the menu... probably pizza and wings.
Honey - January 30, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
I'd rather sleep. :snooze:
Mandy - January 30, 2006 02:23 PM (GMT)
I refuse. Besides, we'll be too busy watching our new DVDs!
Sarah - January 30, 2006 02:39 PM (GMT)
I don't think US football has ever been on the TV in our house
Stringaling - January 30, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
If weren't for all the threads like this, and people around us talking, we wuldn't even know it was superbowl time!
squatpuke - February 1, 2006 11:20 AM (GMT)
Pittsburgh, Pizza and People (the neighbors...they have a 62" widescreen)
LynnMcG - February 1, 2006 07:33 PM (GMT)
It'll be on our tv, I'm cooking food at some point during the day, and we'll be there...does that count as a super bowl party? :D
Mandy - February 1, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
Oh geez, I just found out...here, we get a three day weekend because of the Super Bowl. That's just sad! Though I'm not complaining about the three day weekend, of course.
GutterRat - February 2, 2006 01:34 AM (GMT)
We had planned on going to my buddy's house but now he's being shipped off to Miami on a biz trip so.....there goes that idea.
I think we will just stay home and watch it.
Honey - February 5, 2006 01:10 AM (GMT)
I asked hubby today what we're doing tomorrow. He says he doesn't know, probably sit at home and watch the Stupid Bowl. Great! So now I know I WILL be locked upstairs snoozing! I had hoped he'd say we're going out to visit. :nono:

Well Deb, I didn't make it out the door. Ironically, the weather started acting up. If I had left, I'd be there by now. hehe
SO....did anyone enjoy the Stupid Bowl? Hubby watched his share of it. Boooring...

Ty watched all of it....I didn't even catch the halftime show...altho I DID catch the pregame show with Stevie Wonder....did anyone else watch that part? I coulda sworn one of the songs near the end contained the "F" word....
But after Andie was in bed, I sat & watched the end with him (well, halfway, I was also reading....) and commiserated (sp?) when the Steelers lost....
But we had good food!
And isn't that what the STUPID Bowl is all about anyways???
clayman - February 6, 2006 01:17 PM (GMT)
I usually watch only one football game a year - and that's mostly for the commercials. Sometimes it's for the game. Like when the Tennessee Titans (formerly the Yewsten Oilers) played. Or, when my buddy was in the hospital and I went to watch it with him.
Last year I went to a Super Bowl party for families and there was lots of food and sodas. The party was loud and raucous during the game, but everybody shut up during the commercials. A couple of times, we were told to be quiet 'cuz commercials were coming one.
See, that's what the Super Bowl is all about. Commercials! Yeah, baby!
BTW: Who won? Pittsburgh or Seattle?
Stringaling - February 6, 2006 03:20 PM (GMT)
Didhn't watch--didn't care....went to the grocery store..

I have an aunt who did that on Christmas Eve a few years ago.
She'd just had it with her husband and grown kids. Sometime during the night she packed a bag, took the spiral ham, and split. She drove from NJ to AZ to see her mom. What was funny was the phone calls they made looking for her. And then that she took the ham. Darn kids deserved it though. Pains in the butt!
