Title: Simple Question From The Computer Ignornant

I need more RAM. Where and how do I get it, install it, and everything else??What is average cost, etc...I am totally stupid about this....

Most local computer electronics stores carry RAM chips.
If you or your husband don't have any prior experience with installing RAM, then I suggest you find someone that does, or hire a pro. Getting an accidental static shock on your motherboard can destroy everything.
DDR RAM is the more common type being sold these days. You can get 512MB for about $80.

I get it online from Crucial.com.
It's one of the easiest do-it-yourself installs.

It's important to either buy TOTALLY new ram or get exactly the same as what you have...
Mixing sizes and strengths is NOT recommended....
Make sure you know what your buying if you go retail...they often won't let you return it if you open and 'try' it....

btw, it's important also to know whatchya lookin for also. What kinda puter do you have? Do you have a book for the mother board? That'll give you the specs on the chips you can stick in. How much mem do you currently have? What OS (operatin system)

the cpu is 1200 mHZ/1.2gHZ--how do I find out the size of the hard drive? Interesting thing--I was looking around my computer and found out that when we first set it up I named my computer Mr. Poopy Pants! :rolf:
