Has anyone else noticed in Hotmail the provacative advertisements that they've been showing lately? i.e. like the dating ones...with the butt cheeks hangin' out?
I got torqued about it and sent an email complaining to them about it...here is their response.
Hello,
Thank you for writing to MSN Hotmail Technical Support.

Do really think that if I complain about specific ads, that they'll do anything about it...or is this Reynold dude just blowin' smoke....

well, I doubt that they'd remove it if it was only one person complaining about it, but maybe they keep a log or something so if alot of people complain, they'll do something about it....worth a shot, anyways, IMO...

I am so tired of seeing some chicks rear end on my hotmail home page. It drives me nuts! I'll complain if you complain Squat. No need to accept status quo.

Well, did ya'll notice though, you've got to give the specific url an a description of the problem etc. Sounds like he's jes blowin smoke, I say complain anyways... buuuuttt... their countin on you gittin the url by clickin the link anyways, which is goin to give that advertiser a hit anyways an so they haven't lost anythin. This world.... sucks to put it mildly an I agree I git sick of some of the ads I see runnin round, they truly aren't leavin much to the imagination anymore.

That's why I no longer use Yahoo. After eight years of Yahoo loyalty, including paying for their small business services, I began to see images like that and masked profanity in advertisements: (Wreck $417 with Green Day). I'll admit it took me a little while to figure out what $417 was, but I eventually figured it out. (Note: It's a vulgar word for :poop: ). There was also, on the Christian "Launch" station, a commercial regarding domestic violence in which a man is leaving a message for a woman in which he calls her a 'bitch'. I don't want to support that kind of stuff, so I wrote to Yahoo asking them to stop it. They only responded to my complaint about 'Launch' and said, "If you don't like the commercials, subscribe to the pay channel." I told them, "I'm not going to pay for something if I didn't like the test drive."
I finally signed off from Yahoo. Except for supporting FHL's Domain (www.fhlforums.com), which I plan to move to another registrar soon, I do not even go to Yahoo. I probably have over 1000 messages in my mailbox there.
Now, Yahoo probably isn't hurt by my little boycott. I tried to encourage others to join me, but no luck. So, I'll stand firm, using my pop-mail and my new gmail account. You want gmail? Ask me. I'll help you sign up. I haven't seen any offensive ads there.

Kinda found a quick fix for this problem...
If your using FF with the adblock extension, you can right click and block images from that ad's doman...
Pretty nifty....
