Title: Ever Wish Ya Had A Switch?
Addicted2~Jesus - January 18, 2006 07:23 PM (GMT)
Ever wish ya had one em switches where ya could jes flip the thin an be in your married life an flip it the other way an have the single 'free' life deal? There are days where I wouldn't mind bein single in a way, ya know eat what I want, where I want, quiet er loud etc?

I don't know if it would be as simple as a switch.
I'm thinking about this switch that you speak of and wondering to myself what I'd be desiring to do as a single guy that I can't do as a married guy.
Only one things comes to mind... and it's not honourable.
Sometimes I wish I could get a day home alone, or stay out with some friends and not feel like, "Aw man, I better go home. Wife doesn't like being in bed by herself"

 ME!! Sometimes, especially at night when I've been running around all day doing stuff, then at night when Ty comes home it's DOUBLE....a switch like that would be nice, if only to get an hour or so totally by myself to re-charge....
PS....when I first read the title of this thread, I thought you were talking about a "switch" like this>>> :whip: B)

I figured someone would be thinkin of em kinda switches lol
Yeah Red, I don't mean a switch for thins like that at all, an would think sumthin wasn't right in my marriage if it were bout sumthin like that. For me it's the bit of freedom I spose, for the last month er so, I've been stayin up later then Sarah by an hour er so jes to play a game er sumthin, it's quiet an no ones makin noise but me, sorta jes my own lil peace er what have you, that's sumthin I could say I miss I reckon, not that bein married isn't great er anythin but jes an hour here er there is nice from time to time.

Nope. Have you see what single people have to deal with these days? No way. No thank you.

Yes, especially right now when I'm running on two hours of sleep for the past two days because I have to stick to his sleep schedule.

Maybe if I could switch the kids to 'nap' mode on demand. Just spent 30 minutes dealing with a tired & cranky two-year-old who refused to go down...

So far I'm on day 3 of no naps....she's doing ok during the day, but she gets on the trigger switch the closer we get to bedtime. It's hard, tho, because by the time Ty gets home in the evenings, I'm about ready to start getting her ready for bed....and she LOOOVES spending time with her daddy.... :(

If I were single, I'd probably be wild. Seriously. I don't know WHAT I'd do!

Oh, I do this ALL the time.
My wife hates it, but I think she's slowly coming around to the idea that I need a few hours of quiet time to myself.
She sometimes tries to stay up with me but eventually gives up. Sometimes I get annoyed with the fact that she's trying to stay up, so I go to bed with her, pretend to sleep, and then get back out once she starts snoring.
But my quiet, personal time is something that I would definitely cherish once again if I were single. :amen:

That's what I do too when I can't sleep.

Man, my mind's in the gutter. I saw 'switch' and was like, WHOA! A2J's gettin' all domestic discipline on us!
 Alas, messageboards have made me so jaded.
Personally, I wish my husband has a 'snore' switch that I could break in the 'off' position. It's get's tiring poking him in the middle of the night to get him to stop.

Sometimes I think this married life is too much... but I've not yet wanted my single life back... even at our worst fights.... The thought of my single life scares the hell out of me. It means no more Misty. I love my wife too much to give her up for a minute... though I do wish there was a a slider control for how over the top she can get... just slide the bar to a less intense setting when I want to drink beer all night then slide it back in place when I'm done...

i guess I'm the opposite one. Never really felt like i needed quite time away from hubby, but I have whe it comes to the kids. I even think i may go to a movie by myself just to get away.
